Unforunately you need to become a Community Vetran to get the icon.

"Veteran" status seems to be linked to the number of posts made on the boards. I gained "veteran" status when I hit 100 posts.

Actually i think community veteran in now a time based thing. But i could be wrong.

I actually believe that it is both time and post based. Because I saw someone with over 100 posts that was not a community veteran, yet when I got to 100 posts I became one.

Ahh, that explains much. and i believe you are right - cause i've seen people with register dates of july 2003 that were not veterans yet. And i've seen people with posts well over 500 that are still members not veterans.

As the above poster says you have to have been around awhile plus have a good amount of post. not one or the other, a mixture. And only a Red glowy could tell us what said combo is but ive read they wont tell us since then people will post just to get their icons/etc.

(not like im doing that right now )

I have looked at a lot of people's posts and believe that you reach veteran when you have made at least 100 posts and have been registered on the forums for at least 5 months. Now the next big question is how do I get Community Elder? I have seen a few of those popping up lately and can't wait til I get the little green title. Im guessing that is 8 to 9 months on the forums, and something over 400 posts. 454 posts was the lowest community elder I have seen. I wonder if the elders get any new icons....hmmm
