There is going to be a further calling of pets nerf in the next major patch. Basically, you will only be able to call your pet in your OWN house, in a camp, or in a city, but not in any arbitrary building.

Now, I posted a response to this thread on page 7 of the thread. I am going to repost it here, because it is a MAJOR issue to DE's.

Right now, there is a campain to get support for DE's on the main boards. With this next major patch coming out, I think we should be lobbying for support on this particular issue for the reasons I state in the following repost:

This may have been said before, but here is my perspective:

A good deal of my business is due to referrals from other customers. Why? Well, first, I make some pretty darn good droids . I make sure to use the best materials, to max out all the clusters, and sell at reasonable prices.

But the other reason is the customer service that I provide. Many people don't know how to use / train a droid. So, i have them pull the droid out in my shop, and I train them in it's use. Furthermore, I make sure that all the modules are working - there have been bugs where sometimes some modules do not work. So, when a customer leaves my shop, I like to ensure that he has a working droid that he knows how to use.

This customer service will no longer be possible.

Here is another issue. The crafting droids I sell will no longer be worth anything. Lets look at some examples:

• An architect friend of mine takes his structure crafting droid to people's houses, and does interior decorating. Well, that poor little R2 would get blown apart on the run from a city to the house to be decorated.
  
• A tailor friend of mine who is also a master entertainer uses her clothing crafting droid to make people clothes while entertaining at parties and such. This will also no longer be feasable for the same reason as the last example.
  
• I use my own crafting droid when I get a special order and am not at my house.

So, in answer to the question posed in the title of this thread, yes, it will limit the calling of droids too much.

Now, on the general question, the same types of things apply. Here is a summary of my thoughts:

• A hunting party is setting up in a remote location, or even someone in another PA's hall or something. No way to have everyone call out their pets at the meeting spot.
  
• You are with a group, and exploring a remote location. Everyone agrees to log at a reasonably safe spot, and meet back up the next day? No such luck.... all pets are gone.
  
• Some planets don't really have a place to call out pets and droids.

This is a nerf to both creatures and droids.
