Thread: Possble Seeker Droid Bug
I've been getting reports from some of my Bounty Hunter customers that the Seeker Droids they are buying never run out. Meaning that the last Droid in a stack of 10 does not delete itself after they use it. They are then able to use this last droid indefinitely.
Allof the BH's that experience this are at Investigation III, but I know of at least one who is only at Investigation II and has seen it as well.
I have /bugged it, and have told my customers to as well. Most of them are manually deleting the droid, but if you have seen a drop in Seeker sales, this may be why.
I don't think that's a "bug", it sounds more like an "exploit". I wonder if they can make a fix that will get rid of the last one in those BHs' inventories or if we'll end up having prenerf seeker droids destroying the alreadymessed upDE economy.

What are you going to do, though, ask nicely for them to destroy the last one?
Tsu has been so good to us with his pricing since the Vendors were taken out, that yes we do destroy that last one, and several Bounty Hunters have sent in a /bug report.
The last thing we want is to see a wedge driven between our two professions, when everything has been working out so well.
To add a little info, at least from what my customers have been telling me, it only happens after the BH attains the Investigation III skills.
To be honest, the 3 that have reported it to me said they didn't notice it until they ran out of droids in the crate and then realised that one wasn't dissappearing each mission. Most of them like to run 3-5 seekers in parallel, which means they don't notice because they all chew charges (and typically not all of them with the same number of charges) until the last one. In one case, the guy has used 2 crates of them and only realised at the end when he had 2 seekers sitting there with 1 charge each, decided to use them on a mission and found they were still sitting in his inventory with a single charge left on each. He then tries out another mission with them to make sure it's a bug, is confirmed, then promptly emails me and /bugs it.
It's quite possible that most Bounty Hunters won't even notice if they never get to the "end" of a collection of crates. I know many always like to keep spare crates in the inventory so that they never run out, and buy new crates as stocks get low, but before they run out. Thus, they'd never really notice until the end of 5 crates or so - so about 50-odd missions into it - when they now have 5 droids all with 1-charge each on it.
Here's how the bug works.
If a seeker is used in the command Find the seeker count always goes down by 1. When the command "Find and Track" is used the count stays the same regardless of if it's the 1st or 10th seeker in the stack. There is no way around this bug "Find and Track" is bugged and is only available to BH who have trained Investigation 3.
You can still expect to make money on Arakyd droids. Those still function properly at all levels and using either command. If you already have Seekers in your vendor's inventory I suggest you shift your focus on Arakyd Probe Droids until the bug is fixed.

This needs to be reported.. do a bug report. This should be a hotfix... I mean DE's got it bad already, this will hurt the only business we have.

Yes and no.The Bugbeen reported but in the long run the Seeker droid industry will take a huge nosedive very soon. There are very few practicing Bounty Hunters out there and very soon they will be hiting their mastery and will no longer be doing BH missions (at least until Player bounties start rolling in). The market will dry out to a trickle and only new players who intend to acheive mastery will need them.
