Not sure how many of you have thought about the implications of the new pet fix, but it is going to suck in a big way. Basically you will only be able to call droids in three places:

1) Outside your declared residence.
2) Outside in a city
3) In a camp

At first glance this may get the "Quit crying, just make a camp" response, but think a little harder about this. Customers can no longer call the droid you just built them in your shop. YOU can't even call a droid in your shop. If you work out of a mutually owned shop and you didn't place the house, you won't be able to declare it your residence. This means that you won't even be able to step outside and call your droid. Guess we should all have novice scout and find a good location for camps...

This doesn't make sense, and we are getting whacked because the devs didn't code in a difference between droids and CH pets. If you want to voice your opinion, please go to the Game Discussion forum and look for the post there regarding this issue. If we don't speak up, selling droids and obtaining new customers is going to get a lot tougher.

Yeah, it's fairly lame that DE keeps getting hit with stuff like this because some CH dood likes pulling out Tortons in the cantina to piss people off. Bleh...

Amen fellas. Please share your thoughts on the SWG Discussion board. Hopefully a Dev will take a look and realize the impact that this "fix" has for other professions.

Ok the outside thing only refers to cities not your declared residence. And customers can call their droids you just gave them anyhwere as they are schematics not droids and you can tame schematics any where you want to, just as long as you don't have another droid already out or something.

For argument's sake, lets say you are right. Should you be limited at ALL as to where you can call a droid? I don't think so. If they want to restrict CH pets, don't lump droids in there with them simply because we share the same datapad.

In my case, someone placed my workshop and my house down to save me the lots. That means that I cannot call my droid there because I cannot declare it as my residence. The trading outpost that my vendor is in was placed by a guildmate as a guildshop, so I won't be able to call there either. Does that make any sense at all? The Devs need to take this fix out until they fix the code to distinguish between droids and creature pets. Then they can start placing restrictions on them and leave us alone.

If you just built a droid for your customer, then its still in Deed form. You do not call a pet from a deed, but rather Tame it. The distinction is important. You can tame droids anywhere at anytime, including as of 2 weeks ago PvP areas. So dont fret too much about customers not being able to call just purchased pets. As from deed form they are tamed, and this can be done anywhere.

Why is this even a debate? This change is wrong, and it doesn't make sense. I already had to take scout, because I can't put more than one crafting station in a droid without it bugging out. Not to mention the last time I checked, we still couldn't put a repair module in a power droid, so I have to swap those out all the time too. We have limited points to spend, and we have to spend more skill points on scout? It is fine for creature handlers, who have to get scout anyway. WE shouldn't have to.

Camps currently are the most powerful thing in my arsenal. I can heal by sitting there, unlike my surgical droid, who can't heal anything no matter how hard I slap him. I can pull out my droids, craft something, and put them back in the datapad so they don'tget stuckon a pebble. I can sample berries or whatever and have a speed bonus because I am able to camp. I mean, what a slap in the face for architects and droid engineers. And people still whine when we mention droids being able to heal. Just take novice scout or novice medic, and what's the difference?

Please stop supporting decisions made for "pets" that affect droids also. Droids are broken enough without having to suffer CH penalties too. One more thing for customers to complain about might be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

While its true that you can tame a deed anywhere, I like to show off my wares before I go to the trouble of making a deed. That means calling a droid from my datapad. Yes, I could carry a surplus of deeds onhand just for this purpose, but that would be pretty wasteful.

All they gotta do is let us keep all our droids out at once, and I'll keep my repair droid in the closet, for use when the customer needs his droid repaired.

Me too, I'm not the owner of either the house I live in (it's on another account) or my storage/workshop area which I share with a friend (it's on his account). This means if I want to pull out *any* of my droids I'm going to have to run 1200m to town since I'm not a scout and can't set up a camp and then run 1200m back?

**edit** that is all I can say... =)
