Thread: So how's it all going?

(Somehow I can still post without actually paying anymore). Thought I'd pop my head in and see how things have progressed in the game since I departed. Kinda curious what all the new features will be for Pub8 and if it'd be worth returning to the game over. Also wanted to give a big hello to any of you old fogeys that are left.

Hiya Woody!

It's going. There are some interesting concepts in patch 8, but I really can't say that they're nearly as good as what Bio-Engineer and Chef got. I'll try not to pass judgement until the patch actually hits Live, but right now it just feels pretty average to me.

I don't expect any of the new droids to be huge sellers, and the one droid that had serious potential is currently also the one droid that is seriously bugged. The Interplanetary Survey Droid could have been our Brandy, but right now it's bugged so badly that it doesn't do anything. And we don't actually even know for sure what it is *supposed* to do... if it just reports resources and not resources + stats it's going to be pretty useless for the majority of players. (Translation: won't sell well.)

The Stimpack Dispenser looks nice and might sell okay. The Entertainer modules are very cool but will be very low sellers due to the target market. The exploding modules might be good sellers... or the might not. It will depend to a great extent on how easily they can be used in combat, but of course they're restricted to Smugglers and Bounty Hunters. I'll put 'em up for sale on my BH vendor, though, just to see what happens.

Seems rather sad to me that the greatest potential (or so it appears at this time due to the bugs in the ISD) is the Toaster Bomb.

Heya, boss!!

Good to see you about again. I've been saving up my extra cans of Dapper Dan for ya...just in case.

I'd reply more but, as you can see, I've been a busy Wook lately.

It's a mixed bag these days. Some have moved on but there's a good amount still around and kicking.

Hi there Kollos. Glad there's still at least one familiar face around here IT's good that there is more coming than what was promised when I left, at least. Not sure the Toaster Bomb will be enough to bring me back though

Kind of funny to note the level of droids in this compared to another game I'm currently playing, Galactic Conquest (BF1942 mod). In there people have been running in abject fear of the droid, as it has the ability to float high in the sky and devastate from a long distance with its blaster. It's so bad that while I was driving home from work yesterday I saw a black spot in the sky and for a split second I actually got the feeling it was a probot coming to snipe me.

Anyway, I'll be about for a day or two, keeping an eye on things. Want to see how it all turns out.

...to say the least. There's been so much to cover but I'm not complaining. It means some real 'love' for us, which I'm all about.

I suspect it will be pretty nutty for me for about the next week to 2 and then things will settle down some.

Hey fish food. Patch 8 is better than a sharp stick in the eye. But it seems most of the modules are a few inches short of being useful..literally... its right there...but not quite what it needs to be.

Like i said before, its like throwing a drowning man a 14 foot rope when he's 15 feet away.

Woodie-mate! Hiya!

Dang, it's been quiet around here without your wit and wisdom embellishing the pot once in a while.

New droids? bah. What will work at all has bugs, and we DON'T need any more steenkin' bugs in this profession!

I still keep my vendors stocked, which isn't hard to do any more, and sell enough to pay for harvesting the 20 or so *named* resources we now have, with promises of more to come.

But like you, I've gotten a side-line. I tried going up Pistoleer for a while, but stopped when it was obvious I was never going to be able to solo much more than a Greater Shaupaut, so turned to Creature Handler for a change of pace. And it's fun! First thing noticeable was the ability to call out a Droid AND a Pet at the same time, which if I remember right was promised to ALL players before the last Patch.........

My favorite combos so far are a Razor Cat and either the Combat Probot (1100 HAM and hits for 115-125) or a stacked R3 with 5 Combat Modules and a Lvl 6 Storage, that has 1691 HAM and hits for about 110 damage. The little buzzsaw the R3 uses looks weird, but actually does some damage, probably slicing their Achilles' heel so they can't run, I haven't figured it out for sure yet.

Ah well, anything to keep it from being boring.

Hope you're enjoying that other game with REAL Droids as much as you used to enjoy SWG. You were a blast to chat with, and a hellofagood mentor for a lot of us folks. Thanks again, for all the help you gave me.

Come back, we need you!

Woody!

Funny you poked your head in, I just did the same.

I just reactivated to check out the new changes (two FULL DE patches? Nice!) if I can get my computer to stop freezing, I may actually try stocking my vendor!

But it appears in all the time I was away I didn't miss that MUCH.... But I'm going to play around again for a while.. You should do the same!
