Hey everyone,

I'm not a droid engineer now but I was for a short time. Then I realized how rough it was going to be to become a droid engineer. Anyways I came up with a suggestion to make the binary load lifters in the game useful. Here it is. I have mentioned this to a master droid engineer so this may have been posted already:

Make it so that binary load lifters can "carry loads". What I propose is that a binary load lifter should be able to make harvester runs for its owner. This would be huge for the Droid engineer profession. Suddenly everyon would want one. This is how I think it could work:

1. Go to the droid engineer and place the order for the droid.

2. Pick up the droid. When you pick it up, email the Droid engineer the way points of your harvesters. These will be the different stops that the droid will make. Then give the droid engineer the waypoint for the location of your "declared" residence. This will be the location that the droid engineer will drop off the resourses.

3. Have it so that the owner can now pay creds into the droid and deposit power into the droid to be dispersed evenly to all of the different harvesters that it has way points for.

4. Then have it so that the owner then activates the droid once its on the planet where the harvesters and declared residence are on. Obviously we're not going to have them taking shuttles.

6. Then make it since the binary load lifters have such high armor that they can be attacked by aggros in the wild. Then make it so that the owner receives an email if their BLL goes down in the wild and a way point of where it collapsed. Then make it so that they ahve to go out with a repair droid (yet another way for you guys to get some business) and repair it so it is usuable again.

7. Don't make them too weak though because then it will be a hassle to constantly run out for harvesters. But these would be great for the casual players who only get to play for a couple hours a day and have to spend all of this time running around paying maintenence on their harvesters and such.

Personally I feel that if they were to take the time and tried to impliment this you guys would have a booming business and everyone would win. The crafting professions would save some of the time it takes to do harvester runs, you guys would sell more robots, the casual player would have more time to enjoy more aspects of the game. I mean if its a Binary Load Lifter make it Lift Loads.

NoOooO keep them useless i want to be one of the only ones to be a proud owner..ii just patrol it around AH with the name "egnar rules" and go do missions while recieving lots of OoOO and Ahahhh tellls....besides if i noticed his arms are like lifters..how would it place power? I think it should be more useful as a portable vendor type thing =)

I had once suggested that repair droids and power droids be optional components of medium and heavy harvesters.

You would no longer have maintenance or power concerns at a cost of harvester efficiency (the droids would consume some of the resources to maintain themselves).

I still think this is a good idea.

I think thats a great idea Domacett, but instead they should have datapads on the harvester. That way it doesnt have to be done at creation time for people like me who tend to accidentally let harvesters destroy themselves (or dont make enough money to restore the harvester. I think it should count against your total droid count, but the droids would patrol between each harvester that you own in the area (perhaps use the droid's own datapad for this) and repair/power.

Also, instead of making the harvester not consume any power/maintenance at all, it would instead significantly reduce the cost.

Power Droid - 30% reduction in power costs

Adv. Power Droid- 50% reduction in power costs

Repair Droid - 25% reduction in maintenance costs

Adv. Repair Droid - 40% reduction in maintenance costs
