We bought one last summer, and my two-year-old daughter just loves it. She's always telling it "dance program" to get it to dance and play the cantina song.

It adds to the fun of the game, because when I'm in my shop with R2 chassis littered about, she always come up and says, "Look dad, it's R2-D2!".

Awww, man! I saw that site before it was actually released and then forgot all about it. Now you've reminded me and I'm gonna have to go see if I can find one. :-)

I have tried one of those. the voice recongition is very iffy at best. You have space out what you say else R2-D2 just whistles at you.

For example, the Artoo has a reaction to "DO YOU REMEMBER DARTH VADER?" (typed in caps because you can't just talk to it normally)

First of all, you need to say "DO YOU REMEMBER" first which it will acknowledge with a burrble or something. Then you say "DARTH VADER" and he will make the scared noise and his lights will dim.

I have one of those. He's great, especially all the hidden songs and features (like the Follow me command). He sounds JUST like the "Real" Artoo when he talks. I love it when he decides to shake his head "no" at you, and my three little nephews love him, even though they can't quite command him... they keep acting like they expect him to do everything they say, which he can't.

He's basically the toy I waited 25 years for.
