Thread: We have 10 Experiment Points !!

With this latest upgrade, we now have 10 experiment points.

However, it seems to be somewhat buggy. Making the same item twice:

1) The first time, I might beable to experiment on 7 boxes in a given attribute line, with the original effectiveness of 0%. This 0% makes the line incapable of being experiemented on. Even if you get an Amazing Result, and you have 7 experimental boxes filled, you still have 0% after the experiment.

2) The second time I created the item, it seemed to work fine.

I know this is confusing, but I'm sure something is up. This happened quite a bit last night. However, I'm not exactly sure what's going on when it fails, and when it doesn't, but experimentation definitely seems to fail, (even with an Amazing Success), quite a few times.

SnowDog:

By-tor says: Some of the attributes are zero, always zero, and a complete waste of experimentation points. For instance, on many items 'Effectiveness' can be experimented, but 'Durability' can not... Yet on cluster modules 'durability' can be experimented.

There seems to be little rhyme or reason behind which attributes can have experimentation done, though.

Then again, there's another factor: Any time an attribute hits zero (such as after a bad critical failure), it seems to negate the possibility of experimenting it any longer, so maybe one of your assemblies was lousy enough a success that you just plain got a zero in an otherwise experimentable attribute.

It sure would be nice to get that info in a patch note. <sigh>

That sounds like you are refering to experimentation on the Durablity line. The Durablity line has been useless since the patch that removed Perma-Death. It has been listed as 0% and no matter what you do, it will not increase even though every single time it tells you have have had an Amazing success.

The Effective and Quality lines do seem to be working as intended and I was actually able to pop out many parts with a 13 Mechanical Rating, using some really good resources. The two components that I noticed to still be buggy are the Droid Repair Module and the Data Storage Modules.

Droid Repair Modules actually needed up with a better Mechanical Rating if you fail the experimentation process. I ended up with a Droid Repair Modulewith a 13 rating after having afailure result. It is extremely difficultto get a decent rating onlevel 3 or 4Data Storage Modules (only 2 levels that I have tried crafting so far). Out of 24 attempts to build Level 3 or 4 Data Storage Modules, the best I was able to get was a1 Mechanical Rating.

Other than that, its really kind of fun seeing parts with a rating of 13. Now, if only the HAM/damage caps were removed, so that we could actually see what this means for us.

Doh, Rho is right. I forgot that a few of the sub-components still allow for durability experimentation. I was refering to the end product droid.

Here is a scary, yet sickening thought that just occured me while I was replying to another thread. Can you imagine what a Probot would look like right now if the HAM/Damage cap was removed? The Pre-Nerf Probots are pretty sweet and they where made with only 5 Experimentation blocks.

Can we say 6k HAM and 300 damage? Throw on Medium 40% armor and you have something that could take on almost anything in the game.
