Thread: DE-NERF THE FREAKING PROBOT PETITION
Meanwhile, there are insects that have more HAM and damage points than a 25,000-credit fully-armored/fully experimented Probot.
The only people who get any use out of a probot for combat are newbs, and they can't afford a probot. Any DE worth his salt won't sell a probot for less than 18K, and that's being pretty darn kind.
If balance is so important to the devs, why are combat pets so outrageously UN-balanced vs. combat droids? (Er, "droid" in the singular, since no one uses a DZ70 for combat.)
Now even our highly-regarded, level-headed correspondent has been driven to near-fist-shaking rage by the continued favoritism of the CH profession. And when 90% of the rest of us get behind her, the administrator locks her thread for "ranting." I'm sorry, but after six months of neglect, what do you expect us to do?
We've had to endure deficiencies and bugs since Beta 3 in June, and they are still not fixed. They nerfed the Probot from 13K HAM to 820. They gave droids permadeath (God only knows why, since no droid is over 821HAM), which was finally undone after loud sustained protest from many communities, not just DE.
It's hard enough breaking even by selling crafting droids, when what people really want is an uber combat droid. I can't tell you how many people laugh when I tell them the cost of a probot along with its HAM and damage rating. It makes us look stupid, it makes us look worthless... especially to non-crafters.
All we get from the devs is "well it's gonna take a while to fix DE." WE UNDERSTAND THAT because it was tied too closely with CH to begin with... but at LEAST make our profession COMPETITIVE in the meantime!! The easiest way to do this is to de-nerf the Probot!
I am new to DE, and I understand the pain. I had never seen a pre-nerf probot. As much as you might like it, there is no way they are going to put (put back) a 13K pet with medium armor and 40% resists. That is better than a Rancor, and they took those away from all but MCHs. They sure would not allow just everybody to have one of those. The ONLY way I see that happening is if it were DE only, and this wouldn't help our sales any because any DE who wanted one could just build his own.
At this late date, I just don't see them giving us any combat droid much better than CL 15, if that good, because they are already planning to cut live pets back to CL 10. They are just NOT going to say "Ok, CHs have been gods for so long now, let's let DEs have their turn." They are trying to get rid of all the god classes not just shift them around.
