Thread: A non DE's take on DEs
Holy Crap.
In the back of my mind is a little voice. The voice says to me "Build it and they will come..."
Build it and they will come.
I was always interested in becoming a Droid Engineer. Its like giving birth (not quite). People buy and use your babies and are happy! The world is good. However... this dark corner of the Galaxy known as the DE forum is far from happy. And As a non DE I can only say I feel some of your pain. (On the consumers side of course)
I will say I didnt know much about the proffession and still do not. And in my ignorant bliss I purchased 2 droids from a vendor I happened to pass by. I would rather have 4 decent droids than 2 good pets, so I stop in to check out what was for sale.
Ahhh.... An R5 unit with data storage, and a Tracker droid with item storage. Perfect!
Needless to say I quickly looked for the /junk command that im sure was encoded with your profession.
Data storage means what again...? Schematics? I almost NEVER look at the schematics in my data pad. I open up my crafting station. Granted Im sure a Master Architect might need to figure out what component he needs of an obscure client request but... wouldnt it be cool if you can store those on a droid? Bah!
Waypoints were the thing I was looking for. I have a habit of waypointing POIs in the game, Lukes burned up old hut, The Gundgan sacred place etc etc. They clutter my data pad. Well they sure fixed you guys. The latest patch allows you to filter waypoints by the planet you are on only. Its a great option. Dont need that useless R5 droid anymore, unless of course I want to heal someones wounds while waiting for the shuttle.
And I am SOO happy that my storage droid can hold that 10 sided dice I couldnt figure out what to do with. Thank god for that. Wouldnt want to clutter up my inventory.
All that is left is a crafting Droid since word on the street is that Med droids actually LOWER your med rating.
I really feel for you guys. Trully the selfless wonders of the universe.

I think it's much more like being kicked in the crotch repeatedly. You still have pain inbetween your legs, but nothing to show for it. ![]()
Thanks for your sentiment, if only the Devs felt the same way, maybe they'd do something about it.

LOL!!! At least you made me laugh. The crafting station bug has really made me start rethinking this whole Droid Engineer decision (well, not to mention the last crap patch that gave us nothing but another nerf).
Haha - It is .. but without pain killers and the labor lasts five months ...
