Thread: One Final Look Back to Droid Engineering

Nobody will remember, and fewer will care, but once upon a time I was a droid engineer. It was the first elite profession I mastered, and was always the hardest to give up when I decided to move on to other things. It is because of those good memories at the start of SWG that I've chosen to make my last post in this forum.

My reason for playing this game was simple; I was intrigued by the idea of setting up a crafting shop in the Star Wars universe during the original trilogy timeline. Work as an artisan quickly gave way to the choice of specialty, and working with and selling droids was an opportunity I had to take. It was a blast learning about the different droid components and assembling them. More importantly, becoming a provider of droids to the community at large-taking custom orders, keeping vendors stocked, answering questions-was an experience no other game could provide. People would still ask me droid questions well after I gave up DE, or show me the old droid I built for them long ago, and those always made the overall experience worth it to me.A full 14 months after I left DE, someone even sent me a /tell asking for a droid order, because he still had the waypoint to one of my shops in his datapad!

The debates on these forums were fun and interesting too. If anyone is still around from those days, it was always great to be part of your thoughtful discussions, regardless of the issues or positions taken.

Thanks to all for a good time and game experience. Remember that droids are a key factor of what makes this game unique, and droid engineers help make that possible for the community at large.

If I was still doubting to go DE this was a push over the edge..

Are you leaving the game or just profession? And the million-dollar question.. why?

He's leaving the game, but he's saying that the DE profession has been the finest he's ever had.

We are honored that you feel that this place is where you see it fit to post your last post.

I remember you Eutock, and I definitely care! Actually, it seems I have reached the same point in SWG as you have, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do.

Two accounts cancelled due to lack of Dev interest

The NGE, a sad end to a great game!

I just meant to say that it has confirmed my beliefs about going DE. Working from Novice DE now.

And I didn't know whether he was leaving the game or just the profession.

Good luck in post-swg life!
