I have a question regarding astro droids, I am currently a 2234 DE and last night attempted to make my first astro droid for a buddy. He wanted a R2 version, From the guides and other post on the forum, it appears that I can do that, but when I attempted to assembly one, the data modules was not an option to select to include in the construction. Am I missing something?

You are confusing the Combat-Capable Socket Cluster with the standard Module.
The Basic R2 Deed calls for 1 Combat-Capable Socket Cluster, which can hold 3 standard modules. Take a look at the deed and see differences it has compared to say a basic MSE.
Craft the Data module into a Combat-Capable Socket Cluster, along with 2 other modules if you chose. You will then be able to put this socket cluster into the Basic R2.

I remember when I was a fresh DE, this caused me some confusion.
