Im looking to settle down with my main character and this profession is appealing towards me, because when I grinded it before during the infamous holo grind, I had fun with it. Im just curious if it makes a decent income of credits and any tips on becoming a decent droid engineer. Thanks in advance!

You can make good money at it, takes more work to make money than a lot of other crafting professions.

It's really relative to what you want. Yes you can "pay the bills" with Droid Engineer, meaning keep your harvestors running, pay rent, and slowly build a bank account. However, if you desire credits in the fashion to be able to support yourself with high end Weapons, Armor, CA's, AA's, Pearls, and the like, it will be very difficult as a DE. You simply don't make as much as some other crafters or even people just running missions or selling loot.
DE is fun, it's a great profession, you CAN make money doing it, if you work hard, a lot of money. Just harder and for less money then others. Somewhere there has to be a love of Droids.

Well, for me, even with the lack of combat related droids (cant risk getting the vendor bug) and the lack of experimentation and resource quality I still make a reasonable amount of cash on Bounty Hunter and Space Droids with crafting stations and medic and scout droids selling out over3 weeks. I reckon I gain approaching 500k in a week or two. Currently hitting the 12mil mark.
