Thread: Question about DE skill tapes.

droid assembly
droid experimentation
droid custimization
droid complexity
droid precision

Are any of these really needed at all? If so how much do each help? I know everyone who crafts as a master wants to be a +12 Blah Blah but it is really needed for droids?

Also how big of a rule do resouces play for a DE?

Assembly helps get more amazing success and fewer crit fails at the assembly stage of crafting.

Experimentation give +1 point for every +10. More points means more experimenting.

Customization gives a few extra color options at lower levels, but at Master has no effect.

Complexity has no impact on the creation and use of droids.

Precision does work, but it's a BH skill

Speed (which I added) is a BH skill, but the attachment actually slows a droid down, hence worse than useless.

As far as resources go, we are and aren't dependant on them at the same time. Many of our modules and subcomponents can take resources of any quality. Many people use very low grind stuff as a "filler" resource for those.

However, we have a pretty lengthly list of named resources, and for many of them the stats count. Alot. Tolium Gas for example, needs a very high stat to make a detonation droid worth using. The higher(a short list of)modules can be experimented up, the better they are. I'd advise reading through the Droid 101 thread stickied at the top for more information on that. It's long, but you'll find the information invaluable.

Complexity and Precision non-functional and have no impact on the creation and use of droids.

i hope you just kidding and told him truth in private message, speed and precision are bounty hunter skill tapes for droids they use.

Ok. I double-checked myself and you are correct about Precision only. Precision does work for BH's. My mistake. My appologies and sorry to have misinformed.

However, Speed *does* infact slow down the droid, making it useless to a BH or anyone else.

My information is obtained through this clicky of a sticky posted in the Scylla Trade Forum:

Attachments, Armor and Clothing...What works and what does not...save yourself some $$ by reading...

However, from what I understand (second-guessing myself now), that thread is incorrect about Droid Customization and that it does function, but only until Master where customization is already maxed.

ah ok sorry i see what you put.

sorry when i saw the line "Speed (which I added) is a BH skill, but the attachment actually slows a droid down, hence worse than useless" thought you meant as droid engineer it had made your created droids slower.

my fault not reading it proper.

ive meet people who were bh and thought skill tapes for us were to do with them etc so replied bit to quick.

i also knew guy once who went to every planet to find his mark since he had not read thats what arky probes where for.

Np at all. If ya go back and look at your original quote of my post, you'll see I had it worded pretty vaguely. You were right in stepping up to the plate on that, plus I did have one thing completely wrong which you pointed out and I thank you for it.

I went back and edited the original post to reflect the corrections.

it can be pain with these things i had to ask around myself at first droid skill tapes pretty rare anyway dont help so when you do see one first instinct is to grab it.

main one to look for is droid makers toolbelt or bandolier. i think theres two types bandolier is modern version but you cant wear backpack at same time, most go for about 250k

droid assembly 5

droid customization5(as stated not much use)

droid experimentation 3

depends on level advanced frames is thing to build if i got name right so see whats needed to make them and get as much as you can of it. dont waste time making lots low level droids, use pratice mode unless you get an order. it seems good idea but you get stuck with load droids no one wants when you could of got more xp from it. people dont come along and ask for a lv3 medic droid for example its always i want lv6(110) as a rule. when i started out i used to move abotu cantinas and medical centres looking for business since new medic might only want basic droid to start with etc. depends on how mayn de on server your on really. persoanly i started architect as well making my own harvs which i used to use up then destory when maintance ran out making new ones as i went , selling furniture etc can bring in some money when droids slow.

simplest way is to bring up each of the schmes for stuff you can make and get feel for whats needed.

Check the DE 101 guide, listed in my sig and sticked to the top of the board. There, you will find information on the grind, a full list of resources needed, and more information about DE skill tapes.

Was'nt talking about grind but thanks for the info. I meant more along the lines of good resouces needed to make the best droids after master.
