I have tried for the past few days the crafting macro listed in the DE 101. The problem is I can't get the right data schematic. I am going into my datapad and counting off the schematics to the one I want, and get the same number each time (244). When I enter this into the macro and click the button, it always comes up with a wire trap (not my schematic) and then the text "crafting session ended". What am I doing wrong? Help?

Unfortunately the draft schematic number doesn't correspond perfectly with the order ofthe schematics in your datapad. I have found a certain degree of correlation (items next one another in the datapad usually are roughtly sequential, but there seems to be a fair bit of jumping around). Unfortunately it's going to take a bit of trial and error for you to find the right schematic.
What I do isactivate my crafting tool and type in the chat, for instance, "/sel 1". Hit enter, andthat will select schematic #1 from the datapad. If it's not the one I want, I hit the back button and try a different number.
If you have a lot of schematics, you might need to go up by 10's until you hit one that is close to the one you're trying to get in your datapad. Then trial-and-error your way until you get the right one. This is a colossal pain in the rear, especially when you have a full datapad, but isthe only way you can get the right schematic for your macro.
On another note, every time you level up & get more schematics, you'll likely need to change the number in your macro again. The good news is that the number only ever goes UP from what it was in a previous level (or at least that's what I've found so far ).
Best of luck!

244? Hokey Smokes, how many artisan professions do you have? I've got MA, 3244 DE, and 1000 shipwright and I only have about 150.
You can't count schematics that don't use the same tool. So when you're counting, you have to skip ones that are on different tools. Skip all the clothing, food, etc. I've found that counting only works when you're within 10-20 spots of where you want to be.
Open your crafting tool, then type /selectDraftSchematic 100 into the command line. Then while your tool is still open, open up your datapad and look at the one you actually have. If it's before the one you want, hit back, then type /selectDraftSchematic 150 (or 200, or some other larger number). Now it should be after the one you want, so if it's close count, or split the difference, try again and count from there. If you do that, it should only take you4-5 trys to find the correct schematic.
To make counting easier, you can use the change view button. Just don't change the sort order by clicking on any of the columns.

I found the schematic, but now the stupid thing will not select the resources to start crafting. This is what the macro looks like:
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
/selectDraftSchematic67;
/pause 2;
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
/pause 2
Can you see anything that might be wrong? I have plenty of resources available, but the macro will not select anything, now that I got the schemeatic.

BR, did you use a crafting macro for DE or do it by hand? I have been doing it hand since Saturday and still only have 10000xp towards my first box. This will take forever lol

You still have to manually click in the resources yourself. You might want to give yourself a longer pause than 2 sec. to do so. I find if I'm in a well populated area, the macro needs 5-6 sec. to load the resources. If I'm alone in my shop, 3-4 sec. seems to be enough time.
I also know that my macro is a little different that the one listed in DE 101. I can't remember exactly how it is different & I cannot log in atm (I'm not @ home).If you're still having troubles this evening, I'llgive you a copy of the one I use.

Just a few words of advice for the future. When you are trying to find the correct schematic number keep two things in mind. The first is to start with zero instead of one. The other is to ignore schematics your crafting tool can't craft. This means that if you're using a WDG, ignore all the structure, clothing and food schematic as you count.

Logan-
From Drashk's DE 101 thread:
/pause 2; Time needed to double click on each resource needed in the schematic. (This is only an example /pause time.)
You just have to give yourself enough time to double-click the resources. This willvary depending on what's on your screen and how good your computer is. 2 sec may be enough, or you might need to up it to 6 or higher.
And as for the grind, I've done it 3 times now, all by hand, no macro(carpal tunnel, here I come
).Twiceon live servers, and once on TC. It's easiest if you have additional buttons you can remap to double-click for you. I use a Nostromo n52 and have one button mapped to double-click and another button mapped to enter, it's made it a little easier this third time.

GnomeAd hit the nail on the head.
Also note that standing next to a Weap/Droid crafting station will also change the schematic number. (Makes more schematics available).

Wait until you are master DE, master artisan and master shipwright. My computer freezes for 5 seconds when I view my schematics on my datapad. There's that many of them.
