This is probably a silly question for a Droid Engineer, but here goes.

I have an alt on the Gorath server who is working towards Scout. Right now he is level 12. I have a CL 30 Probot with the standard 3742 Health, 1217 armor, and supposed to do damage up to 284 per hit.

Most of the time the Droid only hits for 50 damage. No, I'm not grouped with it, either. Once in a while it will hit with the first two shots at 284 damage, but then it "breaks down" and only does 50 per hit. If I store it and recall it, it may or may not hit for full damage. It's fully charged and still has full vitality. It is using ranged attack to do the damage - it's just much lower than it should be.

Not being a combatant in my primary role as a DE, this is my first encounter with this problem.

Help anyone?

Probot damage is often borked.

There are many different theories on what causes it, however majority of the time, once the Droid enters into melee combat, the damage output drops way down.

The only suggestion that I have for you, that I know will work 100% of the time, is to get a non-Probot combat droid.

on TC my <cl10 scout with max combat probot was grinding on kashyyyk against the 17-24 level creatures. the first 2 groups of re-re's (17)and banthas (22-24) the probot pwn's them fairly well. get to the 3rd group of banthas (22-24) on the way to the rodian hunters camp in 2 trys they pwn us both times.

I set my probot to guard me the right way and walked from one location to the next. first group and second group were mince meat to the power of my probot. third group sent droid to scrapheap and me to the cloner.
