Max storage on any Droid is 10. The 25 that they are refering to more than likely is the Item Storage Rating and not the actual storage capacity. You can stack 3 Level 6 Item Storage Modules into a Cluster Module and easily come up with a Storage Rating of 25, but this rating will still equal out to be 10 Storage Capacity.

Here is the chart to figure out the rating/functionality ratio

Module Level Module Rating Medical Rating Items Stored Data Stored
1 1 - 3 55 1 20
2 3 - 5 65 2 40
3 5 - 7 75 4 70
4 7 - 9 85 6 110
5 9 - 11 100 8 125
6 11 - 13 110 10 150

THen there is a trick or permutation. A person - who is reliable to me, is saying he has bought R2's on sunday that have 25 item storage. He is asking me why I havent sold him these and why I insist limit is 10.

another MDE on Farstar told me there was an exploit which allowed storage to stack in certain droids, but I didnt press them for the details as I she said it was an exploit.

I suspect it may have been related to the cluster stacking exploit, so maybe it wont work anymore?

could always be the devs were charitable and upped the limit. not like any of us would know, why waste stacking level 6s

still, i find it unlikely.

I have gotten up to 12 as the item limit in a droid. Totally unreliable as to the method, but it had two Level 4 Item Storage Modules in a cluster. The modules were experimented and had an item storage rating of 8 each. How two 8 item rated storage modules equaled a total of 12 items able to be stored is a mystery to me.

Did you actually call the Droid and open its Item Storage Comparment? Don't confuse an Item Storage module's rating with its capacity, they're not the same.

well, its wishful thinking.

I tried making an R2 w/ cluster of Level6 Items for an Item Rating of 36. Still 10 items.

I tried making an R2 Adv w/ 1 Level 6 for each slot. (1 in each general, 1 in cluster and a food/weapon station), Item Rating of 36. Still 10 items

So other than replacing my treadwell for storage, it was pretty much a bust.

Yes. But I was never able to reproduce the effect again. I wish I got SS of it for some proof and speculation of how to duplicate the result, but my friend who I gave the droid to quit the game (sounds shady but is true).
