If the schematics images are right, Adv probots hold 5 guns, and the Adv R3 can hold 6?, just that the probots have (well slightly) better HAMs?
What gives with this? (not to mention the armor nerfage).
Say its not so.....SIGH.

The advanced R3 can hold 6 combat modules. Combat modules do not equate to guns. The probot is still more effective damage-wise.

and actually, its the R3's that have better HAMs.TC R3's have about 1700 HAM, probots have 1100.

In fact, it's the one case where the DEVs cared for the continuity.
Look at the Films, R2 gets shot serveral times, beaten, electrocuted, whatnot and he's always fine.
Then the Probot, as soon as someone looks at it, it explodes in fear...
Obviously astronavigational and repair Droids must be hell of a lot tougher then military grade combat capable Droids.

Umm, why are astromechs stronger then probots? Does this seem wrong to anyone else? I never thought of R2 (I know its not an R3, but its the same kind) fighting anything, but probots, are they not combat oriented droids?
Just a few cents from a non DE.
(Oh and I'm not biased cause I'm a MCH, really I'm not!)

If you look at the numbers you have 2 options - more HAM/less damage or less HAM/more damage. That's the tradeoff. Do you want offensive firepower or defensive tanking?

Actually, the probot was equipped with a self destruct device, as Han was rather surprised that it went down so easily. It wasn't out of fear, but out of trying to keep its mission secret.
/agree
Also R2 never died because he is a main character with a comical point of interest. What would starwars be without R2D2? Poor C3PO got blown up 10 times and was always fine, he is another comical point of interest in the movie, HEROS and Comedians never die in movies. They have always been God like etc etc, Look at Daffy duck always getting his arse kicked and blown up, it is a comical stand point for kids. To kill him off would ruin the cartoon..

Don't you think it's all rather academic given that any decent CL10 BE pet should be about...
/emote Cass' brow furrows deeply as she furiously does her sums...
at least500% more effective than the best droid (offense or tank).
It's like fighting over whether the Glock 17 is a better battlefield weapon than the Desert Eagle when everyone can go out and by aChallenger Tank!

Defensive tanking being relative to a durni and not the previous probot's capabilities.
