Thread: Additional characters
Hmm sounds to me like the Devs caved in to our demands that we have more than one character per server... a few questions arise for me...
1) Does this mean most people will try to have one combat and one trader/doc/entertainer character? That would mean a lot more people marketing thier products if they can have their own trader (or not buy from the market and make it themselves...).
My thoughts
1) The devs realize they have made some bad decisions and are giving in to some of the customers demands. It is nice to feel like I've been heard.
2) I guess most people will use the second character for a combat profession.
3) Of those that take a Trader as the second character most will do so to sell their loot on their vendors or just craft for themselves. I don't want to stereotype but I feel this new game will be marketed to a demographic that does not have the ... er... desire to take crafting seriously.
4) If I am wrong on 2 and 3 this is even better for crafters. If there is a strong crafter population it will be even harder for SOE to phase out crafting as many feel they are trying to do.

Boo...but at least we can go out and be BH's too now if we want to...not that I really want to but hey...
Can't decide if this is good or bad - at least there will be lots of new people who will all need a droid or two...

I have to agree with Kejid, the fact that they CAN make them doesn't mean they will. I would expect an influx of kids to whom a doorknob presents a challenge, to put it rather bluntly.
As for getting a second toon, that will make a big difference to all us crafters who are masters of 2 crafting professions. I have closed up shop and cancelled my crafter's account, but I might reconsider if and when this second toon promise is delivered on. With 2 toons we can still be the same 2 professions we are now (except BE) albeit we will have to regrind one of them over again. At least all the hard work gathering those elusive resources and making sub components will not be lost in being forced to drop one profession.
I can't decide if the second slot is good or bad...mostly good I suppose although I was kinda looking forward to being a rarity - sorta like jedi used (should) be...

Tho if I am right the new breed won't beable to get the tag, but anyways.
I'm gonna try and do some droiding on TC-Ahazi tonight to see just how borked we are....
And keep in mind that there are people who simply hate the idea of crafting in a game. So in the overall scheme of things, this idea was a no-brainer. Especially since toons can't shift their skills around like they used to.
In light of all this, this may steer Rasal away from being the crafting toon, simply because he is more advanced than the new toon slot will be. I'd still do crafting, just under another toon. Hmm...
WAHOOO!!! I can now cancel my second account. Overall, this idea most likely hurts the entire community...but it saves me money and that means less for SOE.
P.S. : Any other DE notice Brenlo's quote in his sig? HAHA! oh man, SOE slaps that right in the faces of DEs, Smugglers, and BEs.

1) I like the idea of multiple characters per server. The only concern is the demand for Crafted items now... Granted I can sacrifice some aspects in order to have multiple characters, but won't everyone have one Trader and one Combatant?? Granted, Just because you can doesn't mean you will....
2)I have two accounts currently (Cadeh Ta'joand Fairy Ta'jo)... Fairy is my Master DE andCadeh is FS Master Pistoleer/Master Squad Leader(Yes, Master Squad Leader since pre-cu with almost 80 badges). My trouble is that now that we will be able to have two characters per server there is really no need to spend the $15.00 per month to have Fairy. However, I love her character and the community I've developed. Anyone have an suggestions?
3) I was enjoying the rarity of being a Master Droid Engineer.... I'll miss the "oooooOOOOoooo You're a DROID ENGINEER?? Can you make me a Droideka!!??" lol
4)Can we just tranfer Profession Tags over to another character even though we didn't master them on that Specific character??! I know, I thought I'd ask anyways. For having multiple accounts it sure sucks choosing between the two since I know I can't manage FOUR accounts.
