On my barker Droids, I was able to keep the Barker module feature, but lost the Effects feature. That's really too bad, barkers with effects tend to be more effective than just with barking (and it was also just plain neat).
Combat Droids seem to be getting on very well. I called a CL 30 Probot out of my datapad and was given the option to adjust the creature level or adjust the stats. I took the option to increase creature level. The Probot was promoted to CL 39. Damage remained the same at 61-284, but armor rating increased from the old cap of 1217 to 2000.
I then pulled a CL 30 Probot off my vendor (which was crafted pre-NGE) and readied the deed. No option to adjust stats was given. The CL remained 30, the damage remained 61-284. However, the armor rating increased significantly: from the old cap of 1217 to 7000!
The next step when I have time later is to craft a combat Droid under the NGE on Ahazi Testcenter and see how its stats come out.
So far, it looks like Combat Droids are going to be more effective due to greatly increased armor ratings.
So far:
-Traders can still use the Barker feature on Droids, but you won't be able to use Effects (darn it!)
-Combat Droids called off a datapad crafted pre-NGE will have improved armor over the old standard, but inferior armor to droids that were crafted pre-NGE but readied post-NGE.
-Combat Droids crafted pre-NGE but readied post-NGE retain CL 30, but have a significant armor boost (more than 300%
from 1217 to 7000. It remains a question what happens to that rating on second call, however.
LATER:
After testing the second call, the dialog box to adjust the pet CL came up this time. When the option to adjust crature stats was selected, an error was produced, and the armor rating went from 7000 to 1217. When a second attempt to call was made, the dialog box was back and I made the selection to adjust CL instead of stats. This promoted the armor rating from 1217 to 2000 and the CL went from 30 to 39.
From this I can conclude that the top rated combat Droids are now meant to be CL 39, do the same amount of damage, and have armor ratings of 2000.

I can confirm what was said about the combat droid.
I find it hard to use it in combat with the new targeting system. Also, if the droid is right behind you, it is difficult to target anything but the droid. The weakness of thenew targeting becames apparent again.
