All i ever hear on these boards is complaing. Can you guys look to the Positive for a Minute. Dont tell me you arent making money out there, cause i am making it hand over fist and not trying really that hard. We ahve GREAT Money Makers if you promote yourself and your goods.

All of the New stuff coming in PAtch 8 will Sell, we should be billionaires after that patch. Survey Droid as someone who runs 40 harvys all the time. I would pay 2k for that droid to be able to have it pop to correllia (i am on LOK) to tell me whats there.

So what if it is a One Time use Droid, Yes somethings about it can be better, but have Paitence young One. Things come to those that wait. I will take anything they can give me right now. Cause i know it will sell.

Dont hear a lot of talk on these forums about Droid Stims, anyone pushing them? As a Master Doc on my Alt. I was all for these. And I am selling them lots, all i do is explain what they do when someone buys a Probot or some other Droid and they buy it, try it and come backfor more. I with no combat took my R3 with the lightening it shoots, and took out a 1500 Ham NPC jsut buy stimming him along, So it took me from no combat to something with combat, (jsut dont get mroe than one NPC to agro you though)

BH Droids are still Hot, Make mountains of those.

Just stop complaining about every lil thing you dont get, we will get it, or we wont because it isnt right for the Time Era or what a droid should do.

And We should never be allowed Droidekas, regardless of who has them, How many did you see in The original Star Wars movies, none, they were outlawed and only a few smuggleers or crime lords had them. You release them into the game, everyone will have one.

Well enough of my Rant and i am sure someone will disagree.

But thanks for Listening.

Completely agree. I have never had a problem making money as a DE. With the new changes I will probably double my bank account (currently sitting at 15 mil).

Oh.. I agree... However, I dont make that much money... Why? because of one simple personal problem....

I flat refuse to manufacture and sell, to the general public, the current crop of "combatant Astromechs and LE droids." I personally think they are a blatant perversion of the original Star Wars Theme. I have, to date, produced a total of ONE of each type.. and I gave them to my business partner. I am not sure that even he is using them as combatants, as he has repeatedly requested Probots instead of replacements for the Droid abominations.

However, if everyone else want's to sell them... more power to them.

Should Sony and Lucas Arts be worried? (15000 users * 5 accts = ~$13MIL in potential lost gross annual revenue) If I were the CEO for either LA or SOE, I would certainly be worried.

Boy, I completely agree with you. It's all about marketing. If you're too busy telling your customers what droids can't do instead of what they can do, you shouldn't be surprised that you're not a millionaire.

I see a lot of people complaining that weaponsmiths and armorsmiths make millions but no one needs droids like they need those items. The difference with weapons and armor is that they're very visible. They practically sell themselves, because an onlooker will watch someone equipped with them deal out tons of damage or take tons of damage and they say, "Ooh, I want that!"

With droids, their functionality is NOT obvious. There's nothing to make someone say, "Ooh, I want that!" A doctor pulls out his medical droid to start buffing people... but there's nothing that makes it apparent to passers-by that the droid is helping him do that. Someone could be storing stuff in their R2, but you can't see him take the stuff out when he does it. A crafter could be sitting in a cantina with is trust astromech at his side, but you can't even tell he's crafting, much less that he's using his droid to experiment on his wares.

Therefore, it's up to us to let people know that these things are available. We have to tell someone about a feature for them to say, "Ooh, I want that!" So we might not be making money hand-over-fist like other professions in the game, but that doesn't mean we don't have the potential to.

Checking your spelling (and punctuation, too) will ensure that you're making sense to more than two people.

One thing that has never been wrong with the DE profession is our ability to make money, and I have always said as much. In fact, I would be willing to bet I have made more money than most DE's out there - I don't know many MDE's who have made over 100 million credits selling droids.

HOWEVER, that does not fix some of the core issues of usefulness in our profession. Yes, some of the new modules sound nice - but again, some of them don't.

I think you are confusing realistic discussion with complaining; you see, many of us refuse to fall into that trap of "huge big silence then we look like heroes when we post the patch notes". We should have been discussing these modules weeks and months ago, but were not given that opportunity.

People have very real concerns about the usefulness of several modules, because people see the patch notes and are already saying, "I heard you can make a droid that harvests for me", "I hear you can make a droid that will shout for me", "I heard you can make a droid to manage my harvesters". If I were to listen to the original poster, I'd be lying about the droids usefulness if I wasn't up front. I've already had a couple of people say, after carefully explaining what some of these modules do, they ask, "Um, so what can it do for me?"

Being negative nor being blindly positive isn't the way to get anything done, and as long as people keep the pretense that either one will get us what we need we are never going to have any sort of real place to work from.

I have to agree 100% with Mabe on this, even if he is my arch rival from accross the planet . I am a Master Architect, and a Master Droid Engineer (recently), and all I hear on those two forums is about how SOE is messing everything up. I will actually be glad if all the Survey Droids do is list out the resources on the planet w/o stats, although it does need to include the type. I run a decently successful business out of Ratava off my Architect items, and will be adding my DE items as soon as I stock pile some resources for them. I constantly use over 500k of resources a week, and thats if I dont have any orders going, I have about as many harvestors as Mabe, and am growing in harvestor size every month. It would make my life a lot easier if I could trace down what planet the best steel is on, etc., but then all I would be doing is sitting in my house all day. What fun is that?

I am excited to get all the new droid modules we are getting, and I plan on enjoying them as well. Watching them play with them trying to get it to do what they want. Of course most of them wont work they way everyone wants them too, but if they did, then everyone would bit sitting in their house looking at thier Crafting Station and talking to their R2 Unit.

Everyone just needs to get out of thier house and play the game (cant wait for hologrinding to stop). If we all did that, we would be making money, have lots of business, and even enjoy the game through all the bugs and fixes, I know I do.

So.... you're complaining about the complaining?

A lot of DE's have made quite a bit of money, there's no arguing that. A lot of it, IMO, has to deal with server economies and lack of competition (as there aren't near as many DE's as WS or AS). For DE to be considered a "full" crafting profession, we need to have a steady market. DE's do have certain "niche" markets, but our goods are not nearly as marketable as high quality weapons or armor.

Personally, I didn't care much to make a ton of money. I made enough money to get by, sitting in my rocking chair, petting my MSE. I probably made more money selling resources than I did droids. I didn't become a DE for the money, I became a DE because I was (still am) a big Star Wars fan, and a droid fan.

Mostly my complaints were directed towards the fact that this is a Star Wars game, and the majority of droids you see are NPC droids. Players need a reason to own droids, to need droids. Every player, or the majority of players, should have a droid at their side. I see publish 8 helping quite a bit to this end, but more can be done.

I think the poster is missing a very important point....

Not everyone is complaining about money. I don't care about money aside from purchasing my tools for harvesting resources for making droids. Sure, I'll sell droids, but I do this because I love droids. I want to use and play with them.

And honestly, what is the point of making millions of credits aside from the rather dubious art of selling them on Ebay? Enough money to have fun is enough money for me.

my complaint is that BE pets are stronger then Droid pets and they are supposed to be the same level of CL... aren't they? wel thsi patch will help that. and considering a droid is immune to almost everything but postional change attacks. ( yes i use my droid all the time) that alone should say somehting about them

my vednor though out of the way in a cornor of talus.. have alot fo droids and not sjut teh combat but alot of what i could think of and what i could not hat where specail ordered i made two ofand threw one on the vendor. each one has a discription of some type on it. my thing is not that they are not selling my problem is loction.. btu thats me. i choose it to be hwere it is.

it took em 6 hours to fully stock my vendor.. why?becuase i discribed what a lvl 6 med mod does and waht a lvl 4 stroage can do.what repair kits do and what reconsturkits do. and the difference on each.

this publih will help ven more i think... no complaints really here I am going to get droids that i can blow up.
