Thread: A little Thank You for DEs
Hey, just wanted to let you DEs know that someone out there appreciates you....
I purchased three YES THREE droids from a DE on Radiant...
Probe Droid (max armor, storage, medical)
Protocol (storage)
R2 (storage, crafting)
Now, the Probe droid basically sucks in combat, we all know...but it HAS saved my life a couple of times when MOBS will go after the droid after they've incapped me rather than just DBing me right away - the droid gets destroyed and sent back to the pad, but usually it buys me enough time to come out of incap and heal and finish off the mobs that were attacking my poor droid...
My Protocol droid i pretty much use just as a butler, and he stores all my clothes - i have a couple of nice sets of ceremonial robes (i play a priest) and i don't want to have to pay for insurance on clothing everytime i die....
the R2 i use to store supplies for my crafting of camps and such...
i'm a little upset that they don't seem to allow storage units in them, like satchels or backpacks for organizing items, or that you can only have one storage unit (10 items) per droid...
but here is the kicker - these droids helped out IMMENSELY when moving my house and helping to move my guild's PA hall - between the three droids, that was 26 (the R2 only has a storage of 6 for some reason) items i could carry alone, in my datapad, with no worry about dying and getting item decay!! that little bit extra almost had me go out and buy cheap stock droids with just storage in them (no armor, no weapons, etc) just for use as "glove compartments" that i can store in my datapad - am I the only one that has realized that anything stored in a droid doesn't decay when you die? why pay insurance for all that crap that you're carrying around that you don't use? just stick it in a droid and have a basic camp or two stashed in case you need to get something out. i only pay insurance on my clothes and weapon - less than 1000 creds each time.
So "THANKS" to all you DEs out there that stick with your profession, and hopes that droids will have 2 storage units - hey, if a droid has two option slots, why can't they be the same option? god help me if they actually give the BLL something like the storage capability of 50 items!!! then moving a large house or PA would be a lot easier!

I'm glad there are still some out there that appreciate our work besides ourselves. Thank you for being loyal to us, I'm sure you'll be rewarded greatly when we're finally fixed/enhanced. If you're on Chilastra, I'd be glad to hook you up whenever our patch comes around.
Thank you again, we love people like yourself.
I'm on Kauri, but just a Novice DE. The only useful droid I can make right now is an MSE-6 mouse droid with a level 1 medical module.
Best use I've found for it was giving me the ability to heal an overt friend during a fire fight with another player (healing gave me the TEF that let me dive into the fray and help the friend).

I thought the 'talkie' droids weren't compatible with the storage moudles? I quit making them with those because I read it on this board. Now I never have actually made myself a 'talkie' before since the R2 and R3 are so much better, so I guess I never tested it myself. Whats the deal? Do they sometimes work and sometimes not?

Its only surgicals that are busted (or at least, those are the only ones I've ever had not work, all the others have worked great.
