Thread: Sweet Lord, could DE be any more of an abortion of a profession?
I picked up a holocron and it vomited out something about "mastering droid engineer", so you know, what the hell. I'm doing it.
GOOD GOD.
I've looked at this class, talked to otherDEs about it, etc etc, and all I see is one of the most laughable 'classes' in any MMORPG ever. Thier best stuff is absolute crap.
Thier best ability? MAKE DOCTOR/CRAFTING DROIDS. That's it. It's terrible.
I think the entire profession would be much better off if it was changed to a general "Engineer" class. 1 line would be Blueprints, the other would contain armor/etc modules with skill mods.
The other two skill lines would be reserved for USEFUL items. Why the hell Engineering IV can make cars is beyond me, "Yeah, I can build a Swoop Bike, but I can't make a cinder block to make a house with." Engineers would have vehicles in one of thier other two lines with parts from thier own and Master Artisan as requirements.
Thier spare two lines would also contain generic items that would make them a useful "General Store" class. They could have powerups (especially more than 1 single type of melee weapon powerup), make parts for other professions like Master Artisan does and it would make them a 'useful' profession that others would need to rely on for parts, instead of making gimmick MSE droids that spin around and are named "FIX'THE'DE'PROFESSION".
But man, I'd rather play the defunct Farmer, Industrialist or Miner professions rather than this turd of a 'class'.

Save the pity we like being step children, why else would we have stuck with this thru all the promises.
At least you dont have to gather your top 5 issues anymore. that hard work has been done for about 3 months

Why I still love making droids is beyond me. People think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread when they first get one. Then they ask what else can I make them do.
"That's the best I can make" I tell them.
Then there is either laughter, silence or a pissed off person in my shop.
-I sell purse droids (MSE's with 10 item storage) too, great seller! ... *nose in the air*

ROFL. Ahhhh....why i ever chose DE is beyond me...it is all so true. The most boring and useless profession in the game. This ever happened to you \/ \/

Customer "Can u make me one please?"
Me "Sure what kind of droid? And what addon do uwant?"
Customer "Have you got any fighting ones?"
Me "No...I need 6million xp before i can make anything useful like that* <<<This has been changed a little.
Customer "Hmmm can i have a healing one then?"
Me "Sure best looking one i can do is an R5"
Customer "ok, how much?"
ME "2.5k please" >>> Hands over the deed
Customer walks of only to come back a few minutes later asking if i do refunds
I totally agree what a dumb proffession DE's are. From playing AO (anarchy online) and being an Engineer on there, i was hoping i would be able to make fighting robots as well as what we can now (like AO's Slayer Droid Annihilator). But it seems i can only make junk, hence the name of my shop...Emok's Droids and JUNK. Just to make anything worthwhile i must grind through 3 blocks xp, how dumb is that. hmmmm i think skill drop is coming my way soon... **thinks of all the wasted credits spent on resources**
I just hope you have better luck with your next Homocron. Hope it, doesn't say Squad Leader!
