fellow crafters....how much do you make ?

i have master weaponsmith, but i've been out of the game for a few months.

i need money lol..and apparently my weapons aren't up to par compared to the current mws..

so droid engineering seems like a godo investment...ne one agree?

and what are you prices for the droids u make and sell?

DE's can make money, but we make less money than pretty much all the other crafting proffesions, except maybe chef. And then again, not all DE's make money by selling droids.

After more than 4 months of playing (3.5 as a Master Droid Engineer) I estimate that my total profit from Droid Engineer related activities is right around 800k.

I have 8 million in the bank. So only 10% of my profit has come from being a Master Droid Engineer... the other 90% has been from running missions (I estimate about 1 million of it) and my more recent activities as a resource broker. Thankfully I can do both easily, because I'd hate to give up Droid Engineer.

Well I've had a slow month after the mount patch. But last night I made right at 200k in custom orders and I have another 50 - 60k of orders built on my vendoer for pick up.

So I'm not hurting for money at all and another DE I know bought a PA hall for the storage and room layout.

what do you guys sell? and price? bh buy from you guys alot?

I sell mostly steel and ore, at 3 per unit. I mine it at about .6 per unit (I keep spreadsheets, include capital costs, power, depreciation... I'm a geek).

Droids? Oh yah, I sell them too. Some BH droids, some surgical droids and mostly fully-loaded R2 droids with various craft stations. General and Medical have been heavy buys lately as holo-hunters have been changing jobs.

I sell probably a good 200-300k a day in droids on average (I think my all time high was 1.2million in one day). All I do is custom orders, and I stay away from BH droids except for some friends and long time customers (they're not worth the time/money it takes to make them). You can make good money at it, but you have to be a good salesman.

I agree with Jenden, BH droids take way too much time/energy and resource than the BH are prepared to pay for (generally)/ Lol its not like I ever saw a poor BH. Anyway, unless your sure of your customer base, and you are a fantastic salesman, leave BH droids alone is my opinion.

What I makein credits per dayis not useful here - Chimaera is a new server, so judge nothing for the moment based on info from there. On Chilastra I found it hard to sell, but maybe that was just the economy and established DE's

In short, DE is not easy money like weaps or armoursmiths

Well, I'm not sure what kind of droids this guy is making, but they sure can't be the same ones I do. I am a MDE on Kauri and I am not hurting for money. The big BUT here is that most of my cash comes from powerups. I will log on everyday and see tons of messages waiting. Out of 20 or 30 messages, maybe 1 or 2 is a droid sale, the rest are powerups or repair tools. I even have a good shop spot, only 700 meters from Bestine. Droids aren't going to make you a lot of money alone, at least now anyway.

this all depends on server/location as well as you're reputation and business skills (not talking about game skills, talking about personal skills). Somer servers have higher prices, higher demand, or more available resources. Almost all of my sales come from return customers and referrals, and generally people get 2-3 at a time. Pretty much the only thing I sell for money is droids (with a few meds on the side, but I've had to cut back to keep up with droid orders) and have more than enough money to support me, the PA that I made, the city that I reside in, and most of my friends.

Yeah I could make a lot more money if all I did was log on build droids, put them on my vendor and having spent all my time making droids log off only to repeat the proccess every day. But I like doing other stuff too. Heck I even searched for and brought in a MDE to be a partner for my droid buisness so that I didn't have to constantly build droids. (Although I was at the time the only DE for all of Gat City, but still me and my buisness partner are the only two DE's for the entire city and for the PA's that are in it.)

Both me and my buisness partner make money, it just isn't as much as the other crafters in the city make.

I do make BH droids and make money from them, but I am a large supplier and sell completely out of a full run of seekers and probe droids with in a half a week. But I don't sell them cheap anymore, since I became a large supplier.

You can make money but if you just want to be a DE for the money aspect, then pretty much all the other crafting proffessions would be better. But if you can deal with DE's being broken and don't care that you don't make as much as other proffessions then welcome to Droid Engineering.
