A crate of 25 Advanced Droid Brains is a beautiful thing.

Anyway, something strange happened... when I made the memory modules and GP modules, I made 104 of each - enough for a run of 25 brains, plus 4 each to make the actual schematic. I capped the schematics for the chips at 1000 each.

I made the GP modules first, then had it make the memory modules - all went well, got 104 of each without redeeding. I emptied both hoppers of my factory before putting in the resources and 4 crates each of GP modules and memory modules. I start the factory making the brains, and when I logged in this morning, not only was there the full crate of brains, there was also a crate of two memory modules in the output hopper - they were the same serial number as the modules used for the brains. Figure that one out. The schematic in my data pad says 896 remaining.

So, where did the other two memory modules come from?

is this a math problem?

No. Let me break it down:

1. Imade 104 GP modules, and 104 memory modules, each out of a 1000 item schematic.

2. Both schematics say 896 count left in my data pad.

3. I used four of each to make the schematic for the brains, leaving me with 100 each.

4. I put the eight crates of 25 in the factory input hopper, plus the materials. The output hopper was empty from when I took the memory module crates out.

5. This morning, I find a factory crate of 25 advanced brains AND a factory crate of 2 memory modules, same serial number as the ones used for the brains.

6. 104+896+2 equals 1002.

Hence my puzzlement.

Like many things in reality, machines mess up.

Two of your droids will now automatically have the "stupid" personality since their brain isnt quite up to par. . . . . but theres a .000001% chance youll produce the uber rare "stoner" droid personality if you put in a worshipful chip into the final one, he will think your the greatest thing since sliced bread if you feed him enough droid lube

how do you make a schematic with over 100 uses?

I am currently amazed at that. I thought 100 was the cap

Just add a zero to the end.

If there's a way to make a schematic for anything between 100 and 1000 I don't know what it is... what was the rationale behind not making schematics infinite?

I've gotten weirdness too. I put in some odd Duralloy steel or something when I make the schematic, then the factory makes 1/2 of the items and stops because it ran out of Carbonite Steel (or something). I've never even mined Carbonite steel... the schematic just changes and wants a different resource

I think maybe theseareside-effect bugs from when they fixed that bug affecting factory produced items not retaining their stats. In your case it's a "Bank error in your favor, collect 2 factory crates of EMMs " In my case it's a "Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go, and remake your schematic "

Thats why I stick to 100, I have never needed to redeed my factory to fix it and I dont intend to start messing with it now

I really dont care that I end up with 24 Advanced Droid Brains

Heh... I've gone factory mad... the other day I made another crate of control units, then used them to make a crate of advanced motive systems.(I had another crate of Control Units, so I didn't have to take one from the new one) Who needs exp when they come in a 1-slot crate?

Hmmm... How many chassis are in a crate of R2 ADV chassis...?

Be careful there Mighion, as I think the answer is 5. I now have some cool crates of 5 Power Cores, and I think Generator Turbines come in crates of 10. I think they snuck in a stealth nerf on crates after making them one unit.

Yak is right, a full crate of advanced droid brains is a beautiful thing.

Even better is when you get a crate of advanced droid motivators, droid motivators, droid brains, droid sensor systems, micro sensor systems, etc. I am now capable of making a complete custom droid in under 5 minutes in most cases (I don't have crates for personality modules).

Something I've been toying with, though I doubt I will do it anytime soon, is to have crates of all the advanced chassis (R4, R2, R3, Surgical, LE Repair, etc.). Then I would only have to drop in the modules, personality chips, one droid brain in most cases, two slots of resources and build the droid.

Probably won't do it though since people will want to pick the colors for their chassis (when that works) and it will take even more resources than what I have tied up in crates now.
