Thread: What general droid modules do you put in your adv. probot?
1) Probots can't have personality chips any longer..only "humanoid" droids can
2)People choose the R2 (or any other droid for that matter) because of the style or look of it, and/or because it fits into their RP better
3) Depends on how you price things -- most DE will charge more for a droid with armor plating than for one without, it's up to you...it's your time and resources
A repair module would be a logical choice for an advanced probot. Not to repair itself but to repair the OTHER probots in the group. I cant make advanced probots yet but when I can, I will make at least 2 with repair modules... and give one of them to my adventuring buddy. That way the two probots can repair each other between battles.
In Probots I like to put only Med and item storage modules. I prefer to not put the crafting stations in the probot but instead put them in the R2 and R3 units. Mostly I do this so hopefully I can sell a person 2 droids instead of 1.
And I try not to take special orders, instead keep a good supply of R2s R3s and Probots on my vendor. I try to have at least 1 R2 and 1 R3 with each crafting station available. All of them I put in 10 item storage, and some I offer with Med modules others without. Everyone seems to get what they want, and most of the time a person who came in for just a crafting bot leaves with a probot too, or vica verca.
Almost everyday I have to replace at least 4 or 5 of the droids on my vendor, and last weekend my entire inventory was gone except 1 mouse with 10 item and 75 data storage.
Since you can put any modules in any chassis (well the repair's broken on the repair and med droids go figure) I have tried to get my customer base used to probots having battle/med/storage skills, and the R series and others like Treadwells have crafting/storage/med skills.

I have found that my patients are more uneased at the sight of a "medical" probot hovering over them
in the med center, making that unnerving drone noise. It also clutters up the operating theater with these black, spidery, bug-eyed floaty-gun droids, trying to apply an ointment.
