Thread: Flurry DEs: A role-playing event/mystery/contest for you!
Just on Flurry, as the title indicates. After it's over, if someone wants to host it on another server I'll send them the notes.

Role-Playing Mystery & Contest: TheAscention Virus
In your work you recently discovered some odd behavior modification in droids. At first you thought it to be a glitch in just one droid, but then you discovered that the glitch spread from one droid to all others in its audio radius. Analyzing the behavior, you discover that all of the "infected" droids are awaiting some sort of encoded signal. When they receive the signal they will cease to heed their proper owners and instead will follow the commands of just one person, the Droid Commander. This virus program is labeled The Ascention Program.
In order to learn more about this virus and develop a counter-agent, you will need to discover one of the original sources. You suspect that this is some sort of modified personality chip. To get your hands on this chip, you may need to scour the shops of droid merchants.
Once you obtain the chip, you will be able to analyze it and learn more about the virus to either defeat it, or to use it to your advantage.
Instructions:
If you wish to learn more about the droid virus (and the contest) you must do the following things:
1. Find a droid personality chip that has been modified with theAscention program. These chips will be available on a participating Droid Engineer's vendors on two major planets. The vendors with the chips are all registered droid vendors on the planetary map. Purchase the chip to enter the contest (price will be1000 credits or less, depending on where you look) and you will receive additional instructions within 24 hours. There is a time limit to the contest, but that information is part of the mystery. It is no less than one week from this posting.
This aspect of the contest is designed for Droid Engineers. If you are not a DE you may be able to *become* the Droid Commander (see Flurry Events for details), but you probably cannot prevent it. The prize forcuring the virusis 100,000 credits and 10 crates of droid chassis suitable to be combined into droid deeds (shared among all those who find the cure in time.)
Note: Contest-related items may be sold in more than one place, or may appear multiple times in the vendors. You may purchase one of any particular item you find, but if you purchase more than two of the same thing you will be disqualified from the contest (this is to prevent griefing). Also, anyone found to be making or re-selling "Ascention" parts to grief contest players willbe reported.

...Something is happening Wednesday. The droids are very anxious about it, and some are misbehaving, or justtrying to run away. Restraining bolts seem to help a little, but the droids seem to think that will all change on Wednesday.
