Ok, it seems that the droid invasion we were told about is not going to happen.
So, I've been thinking the last couple of days :
Why not making our own.
I'm pretty new to the droid business, but I've noticed that when you put a droid on patrol, the only things that stop him are either a server reboot or the owner calling another droid.
Here is the idea :
Lets put droids everywhere.
once you've logged, you go to the nearest city, put some patrol points, and make a droid patrol.
Ask all your friends to do that.
I'm not asking for a droid strike or something.
Not all the droids at the same place.
Instead, put droids all other the cities, so everywhere you go, you see a droid patroling.
All kinds of droids, all other the place.
What do you think?

shoot. I'm doing that already. Myself, and 3 or 4 of the other players in my player city drop droids on patrol in major starports every time we log in. Droids with names like:
Shops-in-CityName-PlanetName
or our newest one:
Email-John-for-FREE-home

That would be kewl...and as a matter of fact, I do it already, but would need more people to do so.
I think it would be a kewl way to get people's attention. And after a while people would want to have a wandering droid of their own...lol.
I can imagine 50 Protocol droids zig-zagging back and forth in one big line. LOL.
One issue, some people have said something similar to this and others disliked it because it causes more lag in populated areas and thus making the game quality worse for other players and technically speaking could be construed as Violating TOS by "Harassing other players"

i guess it depends upon whether your objective is to spam a city with patrol droids or to just have one or two droids patrolling in strategic places

the idea is not to put lots of droids in the crowded places.
I'm not a big fan of lag myself.
The idea is to have droids all around.
Like for exemple in Theed, having a couple of droids near every shuttle port, near the garage, near the palace, near the guild hall,...
Idea is not a spamming, idea is to have the SW droid feeling we want.

Well that isnt what I meant. Personally I think it would be a great idea for everyone to name their droid: I-Want-Better-Droids) and overflow the starport in Coronet. Make it lagg like no other...
The DEVS would respond in 1 of 2 ways...
- Give us more droids
- Program game so that droids are stored whenever you shuttle away or travel a certain distance from the droid.
I am going to take a guess that they would do #2 before doing #1. And I, for one, would not want that to happen, as often I use a patrolling droid for effect or something.

Server would 'shut down for maintenance'...
That's not what I want.
I don't ask for a strike.
I ask for a droid invasion.
If everyone do it, at least we'll have the feeling.

Well, like I said, if you are on Kauri, and pass through the Imperial Outpost on Talus you will see at least one of my droid creations patrolling there, unless there has been a recent server reboot.
If you pass through the starport in Coronet, you are likely to see any number of droids. I know of at least four playersand/or playerorganizations on Kauri that put droids on patrol in or near the Coronet starport pretty regularly.
