I know that bounty hunters use the probe and seeker droids, but what function can the fugative tracker droids be? Now, I'm not very knowledgeable about the DE profession. They don't look like they'd be worth much in a fight. Are there some kind of personality modules you could throw in there to add some RP value you them? What value would one of these be to me?
Also, I've been outta the game for several months. Are there any new Chassis I may not be aware of? Any interesting changes I might not know about?

Nothing has changed in several months for DEs. Oh, we can color our droids now. If that's something new to you.
And the DZ70 is a worthless combat droid that can't do jack. No new chassis and no interesting changes.

Hehheh, I remember making a DZ70 waaaay back, and I think it was a Gnort that took it down in like 5 seconds. I was like, hmmm, never touching that Droid again.

I made one and drag it around with me, just because you so seldomn see out in play. Just for kicks. But it goes back into the pack as soon as the city limits are hit. Or I leave it to patrol the rim of the Mesa our town is on. It makes for an interesting RP piece about keeping some of our city members in line.

Yeah, about all I've done is carry it around in cities for RP purposes. Wouldn't last one hit against even the easiest marks, which isn't a surprise when you consider a probot would also be hard pressed to survive some of the marks. I feel for you guys...
From an outsiders view, what I'd like to see in a droid is specific personalities, or the ability to pre program in responces and statements that can be made at randome or function like the NPC vendors do. Possibly have the droids "programmable" to respond to certain statements if spoken near them.
THe custom color thing is new to me, maybe i'll get a new Fugative Tracker in a nice complimentary color.
I think it would be nice if you all got more chassis to work with, and a way to make the droids on par in terms of usefullness as the CH pets.

I never bothered with DZ70's at all but just recenty with all the talk of the Imperial Crackdown I'm doing a roaring trade of Smuggler Specials at 10K each!Basically, a DZ70 advanced with a lev 3 & a lev 4 item storage module in them.
Advertise them correctly (with associated disclaimer in case the Imperials ARE checking droid storage!) and hey presto - DZ70's a re now useful & profit making!

Actually, the Adv DZ has a lot more HAM (okay, 130 isn't great, but it's a lot more than 45...) And I've been installing Level 6 Armor (Medium, 40% resists for you non-DE's) and selling them to BH's. Seems that sending one of these guys in first (they're a melee droid) as a "first strike/anoyance" is getting quite popular with the BH's on my server. Granted, even with the armor they don't last long, but it lets you get off a few unanswered shots, which can make a big difference in a fight.

I have aSmuggler in my guild that actually requests them. He should have 5 of them now, each with 10 items.

Well, now DZ70's have 180 HAM and with armor 6 they are pretty potent. They can now take out 3 or 4 Dwarf Nuna's (maybe even 5!) before they have to be stored into the datapad to heal.
Oh, the DZ70 also gets some of the coolest colors we can put on a droid too. Hot Pink seems to be popular (hot pink actually does look neat).

I too thought they were useless, but I did craft a few of them early on before I had access to the probot and I did put them in my vendor. Somebody bought them and when I sent him a tell to ask what he was going to use it for, he told me "combat". I said, "they are pretty weak you know". He said "yeah, but its a lot better and than the pets I can buy from a CH for the same price.
So it's something, I guess.
