Thread: Novelty/Entertainment modules

Hello, DE's.

I'm an entertainer returned to SWG after a long absence. While perusing the droid markets, I've run across droids that have what I'd call "novelty" modules installed that produce effects of various kinds: fog, "electric fog", flights of birds, and so on. I've also heard rumors that there are modules that allow a droid to record a music track and play it back.

So, a few questions:

  • What are the different "novelty" modules?

  • Are they reusable or are they one-shots?

  • Will a fair selection of them fit into a droid chassis with the recording module?

  • Is the two droids per datapad limit still in effect?

  • How much should I expect to pay for a "decked out" entertainment droid?

Thanks for the help. I'm on Bria galaxy, so I'd be interested in hearing from an DE's on Bria (email to Slickriptide) who could build something for me.

Avian, Foam, Electric Fog, Mind Bloom, Confetti, and Dancing Jawa's. They are all different effects the droid can produce (assuming you have novice dancer or musician).

  • Are they reusable or are they one-shots?

Re-usable, loopable, and programmable. As long as the droid has batteries it can use the effects (inside, outside, wherever).

  • Will a fair selection of them fit into a droid chassis with the recording module?

You can get up to 6 modules in an advanced R3, so if you wanted a music playback module you could have 5 out of the 6 effects.

  • Is the two droids per datapad limit still in effect?

5 droid is the limit actually (don't know where the idea of 2 or 3 only ever came from).

  • How much should I expect to pay for a "decked out" entertainment droid?

Completely dependent on server, don't know Bria so I couldn't tell ya.

hey hey,

I just wanted to add a couple points that you didn't ask about

You must be novice dancer or novice musician to use the effects modules. Only novice musician can use the Playback modules

Playback modules will stack. You can have an r3 decked out with 6 playback modules if you wanted. (or any # combo of playback/effect mods)

Different chassis can be used... you could have an probot as an entertainer droid (does looks cool, but only get 5 modules tho)

And just to clairify, droids need to be powered to use the ent effects, so you need to have batteries to keep them powered

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I think I must have assumed along the line that the droid limit was the same as the pet limit. Nice to hear that you can have a good assortment of droids.
