I am intrigued by the DE profession, but have only played combat toons in my short playing career. I am wondering, is SWG too mature in economy to have space for a noob? Meaning, is it too late for me to be competitive, since you old timers have sucha head start?
I am considering Valcyn for this Mon Cal DE, since it seems to have a lower server population.
Thanks for your help.

Well, I started SWG about 3 months ago, and abotu 6 weeks ago I mastered DE.
I currently make on average 500K of sales every couple of weeks, plenty to keep my buildings going, and help out friends when needed.
There is always room for another DE, we are not that big a group of players, the thing to do whilst your making your way up the tree, is have a support profession for easy money (combat usually), and make sure you check out where and what the competition are selling.
Thats basically what I did, I sell similar droids, similar if not lower prices, and have very nice sales.
So, welcome to DE. Enjoy it, you never knwo what may happen in JTLS to make us all that little bit more important.

What he said.
In addition, don't forget to check out the stickys above to get the list of resources you'll be needing. Some of them are quite rare, so the sooner you keep an eye out for them, the better your chances of being able to dig some up yourself (instead of paying through the eyes for them).

thanks for the speedy replies. a question, is Mon Cal a good race for it. I know human gets the experimentation bonus, but I don't know if that's important/ worth it. Mon Cal have good Mind pool, plus I like being off the beaten track, not many fishheads around

It would've been worse with chef, armorsmith and weaponsmith. These requires lots of hq resources (DE to), but as chef and ws needs tons of them
