Thread: Question about Protocol Droids

Hey I have a question that I hope someone will be able to help me answer. I'm not sure if I'm bugged or if this is a general issue with the customization of Protocol Droids, since i can't find this issue in the official "bug" thread.

Question 1: It is my assumption that Protocol Droid Advanced Chassis (just the chassis, not the droid deed) cannot be customized, and willalways come out, color-wise, asa reflective, shiny, brass-gold 3P0 color. This statement is based on my experiences, as I don't ever get a color customization screen when building the Protocol Droid Advanced Chassis, and they always come out the same color. Is this assumption correct? Or am I bugged?

Question 2: I have experimented with building many actual Protocol Droids, trying to reproduce the color ofthe Protocol Droid advanced chassis. I have been unable to do so. None of the colors that appear in the customization screen when building a Protocol Droid match the color of a finished Protocol Droid Advanced Chassis. Am I correct in stating that the color of the chassis is not reproducable in a finished droid? Or is that statement incorrect, and if so, which color box on the final customization screen will reproduce the color of the Advanced Chassis on a finished droid?

I've been trying to answer this question forabout a week now, and I've build about 30 protocol droids looking for a color match and I can't find it.Cananyone confirm/explain/elaborate on thisissue? Or is it just me?

I believe that Protocol droids have default colours only.

Any changes you make to the colours, are not reflected in the finished product.

Consider yourself correct on both counts. Protocal coloring has been like this for a while. It used to be that you couldn't color them at all. And as far as I know, after creation, you still can't re-color them.

Thanks so much.

I've done a fair amount of research, so I was pretty sure I was right. Was just getting some conflicting information from people who it now appears didn't know what the helltheywere talking about, thanks for confirming.

Just remember, what works one way now, can work another tomorrow. And with droid coloring, there's no telling what will happen.

*Fondly remembers when R series droids would randomly change color causing hell for anyone who wanted a colored droid.*

I've got a nice black and yellow Protocol Advbarker droid. The coloring has lasted throuhg 6 calls now (after the change to 200). Dunno if I can color it with a kit or not though. Not going to try for another 194 calls lol

Haven't played with the straight Protocol droid though.
