almost novice droid engie... does the grind speed up when i become one?

Sad to say not really. The Artisan tree is much faster.

Take my advice, the profession (and game in general) is 100x better if you don't grind. Just sit back and play the game, make what you can and sell it, work on setting up a shop, building up customers, etc. Yea, it will take you quite a while to master, but you'll still have your sanity as well as a lot more knowledge about the profession.

I'm semi grinding, I'm a true blue powergamer ( played too much UO ) but I am doing it in a way that I can supply droids as I go, I take it relativley easy, I do about 40k XP a day, I make a few droids, and I still got at least 1/3 of my sanity

However, my suggestion is to take it as comforably as you can, by whatever measure you feel up to, don't wanna grind on MSE's till Master? Then don't.

Do what you feel is right, It's your character when it comes down to it.
