Howdy Droid Engineers,
What I bring up here is probable not unique and welcome you to honor the previous Poster to the topic. I can see from the Forum you have bigger issues and troubles to handle but this is a thread to help improve the Star Wars-yness of our game. I too wish for time to be used to improve my profession by the developers or to improve the GCW. That said, here are a few points I would like to see changed or added.
1. Battledroids/Droideka/Super Battle Droids: After watching the prequals all should see that Droideka should be on the level or higher in combat than the Super Battle Droids. Battledroids should be at what is currently the Droideka combat level. Jedi run from Droideka, not Battledroids. Im sure this has been addressed before but I hope to see action on this point.
2. It is good to see the Sith Seaker droid used to track Bounty Hunter Marks but this device should be updated to the Imperial Mark IV Sentry Droid, I believe. If not, at least we should see these little guys as NPC droids in the Imperial dominated cities like Bestine and Kor Vella. This would go a long ways to ad that Star Wars feel as one buzzes by you. Maybe its reporting you for your next Scan, lol.
3. The ASP Labor Droid should be in game. This is its time period and seems to be as common as the BLL we see walking around. This is the droid in the New Hope SE that smacks the Imp Mark IV Sentry Droid in Mos Eisley. It got a figure.
4. Cyborg variations. I would like to see the CZ series as well as the "Death Star Droid" added to the list of Cyborg type droids. I know there are Naming and Customization problems with the C3 series as I glance at your board but it would be good to have varity.
All of these items are Movie content and would help to give the new player that Star Wars feel that many say is lacking. I love our game and hope my posts will aid the Developers in improving such issues. I am not posting on function of droids as you guys are hard at work on those topics.
Good Luck DEs and I hope you get your troubles smoothed out.

I love the ASP-7, it is a neat droid, and should be given to novice DE's as something they could sell for money. If only its module slots were affected by expermimentation then they could make better ASPs as they progress. Since as droids go ASP droids were the most moddable.
How about
three module slots
one armour slot
personality chip slot
requires
manipulator arm
droid brain
droid motive system

Since the droid was a completely CG, I think it would be easy to tranfer him to SWG. ILM would have its model on file. The Developers would probabley have t animate its static moves but it could be an easy build for them. The DE build would be nice and I like the idea of providing another droid at Novice level.
Is there another droid you have seen in the Movies that should be here? My aim here was to flesh out our enviroment with images that we know from the Movies. If there is truth to the development of the Droid Commander profession, I hope some of these ideas would go to aid in its makeup.
Thanks to all who take time to view this post.
