Howdy Ya'll,
I just glanced at Tigg's Getting to Know Your Profession post and saw your #1 concern is lack of market. Im not sure if this has been suggested but here goes.
Make the Droid design system like the Shipwright System. Chassis are the basis of adding and changing parishable Modules. This way a player keeps his faithfulDroid in body and improves him with mods that decay with use. If a combat Droid, then the Chassie will decay in time also. This will call for a management functions like in Starports Terminals but I think that can be figured out. Droid parts are very very seldom looted so there would be no compitition with the game. This will of course require a more evolved decay situation but players could customize a single droid to do many taskes. You would still have bomb droids that parish and have to be restocked and such.
In developing this new system you could add the Texture Kits for droids to provide a new market item to customize your droid. Think of all the different paint patterns you could have. I believe with this extra attention on droids they would be used more causing their decay more.
Chew on this and see what you think.

I was not aware that this had been brought up and examined so well. Im sorry if I upset you for 1 staring me. I ment no harm. Just let it die as you have covered it well already.
I retract my Idea and hope a better solution is found.

No need to retract ideas by the way - ideas are ideas - and this is one that has been brought up before.
I linked to the thread so that you would be able to go there and voice your opinions in a consolodated place.
We do need some method to keep our customer base going - and it's good to see people think about it.
(I 5-starred you to counter who ever 1-starred)
