Was thinking that maybe a MDE has the ability to have more than one droid out at a time. Say a maximum of three. Now of course you would have to get around the thing of the solo group thing and prevent ppl from going crazy with this but do you think it could work? Give the combat/MDE's something different.

I made it MDE instead of novice to prevent ppl from just getting DE for the increased droids.

kinda like a ch but with droids eh? sounds good to me but I doubt they put it into play, why you ask? not sure but I've seen it asked a few times way back in the day (back when it sucked to be a DE)

I payed 50 bucks for SWG but when I bought it I had no clue I was paying for the beta...

funny thing is I get charged 15 bucks a month and it's still in beta

Its been brought up a couple times, but one of the key factors is combat... giving DE's (a non-combat profession) access to more than one combat droid at a time (or a combat droid and an auto-repair droid) is equivalent to giving them combat abilities... That sets a dangerous precedent for giving non-combat professions combat abilities. Weaponsmiths may then demand automatic certs for their weapons, or BE's automatic certs for their pets, etc... Balance is a very tricky thing.

Personally I've always thought that crafters should have the certs to use whatever they build. However they shouldn't have the bonuses or special abilities that the combat classes get with those weapons.

I feel little threat to the commando class if some wimpy weaponsmith pulls out an acid rifle and tries to shoot it. He might possibly be able to hit a newbie crafter with no combat skills but anybody with some defence will probably be fine.

It seems that the skill bonuses and special abilities that should make the combat classes powerful. If the crafters are too good at using the weapons we can make it harder and give the combat classes a bigger bonus.
