I heard posted somewhere (i forgot where and by who.. i'm sry
) that droids not only have modules, but with a little work on our parts and alot on the devs... we could make it so droids would do simple-complex macroing for us, which is orginally what they were meant to do right?
i always knew sosmthing was bugging me about the pro... this would make DE sales shoot to the sky, it would make us VERY desirable etc etc....
plz post back with tons of feedback... i think this + decay rate would fix or proffesion beyond belief...
i really want critical feedback, either take this idea to the top or shoot it down
i typed it up pretty vaguely, and it would take alot of dev time, and i havn't spent tons of time on it, but i'm throwin it into the mixin pot here

Ok, so I'm not understanding what you're asking for, besides the droid decay. What do you mean by droids doing simple-complex macroing? Can you elaborate or show us the original post?

sry all if i sounded obnoxious when i posted here, i was incredibly tired and i wasn't at home heh
here is the original post
I still feel that the most fun, useful and most widely beneficial feature for the player base would be to implement the playermacro system for droids, with a few aditional commands. The Unprogrammed Command Modules brought in with JTL would be a perfect way of loading up macros on droids - I think with very little effort on the devs part we could a system where droids could carry out a whole host of tasks, could become genuinely useful, and actually droid-ish (where as now they are just walking crafting stations to most people).
The possibilites that macros for droids would introduce to the game are, to my mind, immense - and as there is already a macro system in the game that can be used to automate players actions, this could be something that would not require extensive development time.
there we go, i think that says most of it, i havn't really thought about it alot further then that, i just wanna point this out as a possibility

I like it.
Tho I dunno how hard it'd be to take out the macro system we have now, and require you to have a droid to do those macros. But you're right, it would give us a huge market.

Just an FYI, here's the original (almost) post I made about this a few months ago, http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=droid_engineer&message.id=97798#M97798- it gives a couple of examples of what I was thinking about. I believe Drashk mentioned he was going to bringmacros up in one of his "Rebuilding our Profession" threads.
I agree with you, I feel this would give us a tremendous boost, and more importantly (to me anyway) it has the potential to give Droids real character - instead of being just walking crafting stations / storage, which is what they seem to be atm. I feel it would greatlybenefit the game as a whole.
I have been considering writing up my ideas on this properly, but don't think it's worth it atm as there doesn't seem to be much interest in this idea currently. If that changes and I have the time then I will write up a proper proposal.
Cheers
PS Any chance you could edit your original post and change the title to something a bit more descriptive?

This would work wonders hand in hand with the Command Modules we got in JtL and Droid Data Modules.
1) Macro is written (by DE only maybe?)
2) Macro is burned into Module
3) Owner installs it into the droid
4) droid performs the function.
Situation- Send in the droid
Non combatant crafter arrives at harvester surrounded by baddies. harvester needs power. Thankfully his droid is programmed to go to a given target and use the /addpower command. Crafter puts energy into the droid's storage module, and executes the command. droid toddles past the baddies, adds the power, then comes back.
This wouldn't break the game if most of the commands were set to function within range of the owner.
