Some recent dev comments.
First, TH made some vauge commments here:

Also, JustG signed a petition to make DE the top priority here:

Not vehicles.
They just got done saying 11 days ago, JustG in fact, that they had freed up all those resources with this patch to address the professions.
Well, this is as much as I should have expected.
What the hell happened to making them and the player run economy?!!!!!!

Ah, well.
But I still don't see anything specific about droids.

We're atthe top of the list.
You see this is exactly why i dont trust or believe a word they say. Would a bone to our profession, like let droid eng make swoop bikes be that tough to implement.
Was there ever a question to let ch make millions within 2 days on mounts?? Nah thats there baby.
Would it be so terrible to give the red-headed step children of swg swoop bikes. Well we saw what happened with mounts and frankly we cant do that again.
UNREAL, the one thing they actually could give to this profession to make it viable and they are making it npc buyable?
Yet another in the LONG LONG LONG line of slap in the face to our profession.
I seriously hope this is misinformation by the developer posting it
