Thread: Help with Storage modules

I need help. I justs finished a lengthy droid crafting session for a customer and it didn't turn out as expected. He requested 2 droids with ONLY storage modules and one food crafting module. He asked me what was the most number of storage units i could but in. I did this with my R2 unit with a droid crafting station in a local cantina - droids while U wait!

I am only up to DE 3303 so I can make level 4 storage units. I put one of these in my little DZ70 and it has 6 storage slots. After some discussion we agreed on my making him 2 advanced R4 units. These allow 3 socket clusters in the final assembly phase. And as i understand it and crafted, I was allowed to put 3 level 4 storage units in each cluster. One of the droids was to have a food crafting station, so that module had 2 storage units and one food crafting station.

Even with crates of droid brains and all, it took me about 40 min to craft these two as I had to craft the storage modules, i didn't have any in factory crates. Much to my displeasure after we traded the two droids for 25k I was dismayed to find out that there were only 10 storage slots in each one!!!

What did I do wrong? Or is this a bug? PLEASE help me out. I am really frustrated over this and will return his money. The only thing i can think i did wrong was i did not take the time to Experiment on each item so the results were on the - side each time, but i didn't think this would have any effect on the storage, just the HAM??

Any and all suggestions welcome!

Unfortunatley 10 is all were allowed right now. Its one of the things i HOPE they fix when they finally move our profession out of Beta testing. So its CAPPED at ten item storage.....

**Hopes they move it up to at least 20**

Trezz,

thanks for the reply. Yet another poorly documented limitation that one has to find out the hard way! I'm beginning to see why so many players are angry. There was no way for me to know this! Certainly the "holocron" help has nothing on this subject.

There are so many places where blame could be placed here..

Many would argue that stuffing cluster sockets in an R4 is an exploit and you must be burned at the stake now (a little too extreme for my taste).

Others would argue that it's the game's fault for capping all droids' item storage capacity at 10.

Still others would pin the blame in this situation on poor communication.. either the customer's ignorance is at fault or the DE for not babysitting every step of the ordering process..

Bottom line here.. You did nothing that caused this to occur. The game-limit on droid storage is 10.

Yeah, i see your point. However, it certainly is not an exploit as i see it. An advanced droid has room for 3 socket module clusters, each with 3 spaces for general modules in each. That is 9 different items to place. There aren't 9 different things to put into them, other than crafting stations. (and that is broken too) I also noted that i can't put the armor segments in either. I wasn't even trying to embed sockets inside of sockets!! This droid is supposed to be made this way. Finding out after selling a droid was really embarrasing. Since i PAY for this game I think i deserve better support on these limitations. I can really see why people say it is still a "beta" game.

The exploit is that the R4-ADV does not accept module clusters at all - it has service module sockets, not cluster sockets.

An R4-ADV should not be carrying more than 2 modules.

You might want to check your schematics. An Adv. R4 Unit has 3 slots for a "droid service module harness", not socket clusters. Many DE's believe it is a bug/exploit that clusters fit into the "service module harness" slots. If you want to do it the way you've explained, droids can fit an infinite number of service modules. You could just put clusters into clusters, and so on.....

Ok, I thinkI understand it now. Thanks all very much in clearing this up for me. I may have been confusing "Service module harness" with "General Droid Module Socket" Sorry. My error. Still, If I had put 3 storage units each with 6 storage slots, it would still max out at 10. Right? i

Correct. Droid storage is capped at 10 per droid no matter what. I generally just use a pair of Level 3 Item Storage modulesto get to the cap, though now that Ahazi finally has Lidium Extrusive Ore I have started using Level 6 modules on droids where I'm slot limited.

What do level 6's experiment out to, Kollos? I haven't seen any Lidium on Sunrunner.
