Hi guys,

Need some help

Wondering a few things

1) What are the best materials? So far since I am 'grinding' to become a Master Droid Engineer, I havent been picky about what I use. However as I start to sell more droids (people really do like those little fugitive droids on Sunrunner) I want to be able to make BETTER droids and I do need to know which materials I should keep an eye out for.

2) What is best for a DE to do? Should I go straight for more advanced Deeds and then do the others or what? Please help advise me

Thanks for your help

Until you get involved in our plight and our issues, I don't think youll find much help here. Most of us have had enough of helping new DEs out with tips and hints just to never hear from them again.

Ignore Ellewen.

1) Right now, materials don't matter. Use whatever you happen to have handy and your droids will have exactly the same quality as everyone else's droids. The only possible exception to this that I have found is when you're making a crafting station module - the quality of those modules might matter, but no one seems to be sure about it one way or another.

2) If you're grinding your way up, it doesn't really matter. Harvest vast quantities of steel and fiberplast and just plow your way all the way to Master. I personally went up the Blueprints line to 3, then got the first 2 crafting station modules, then pretty much just slogged the rest of it in 2-3 quick sessions. If you're not grinding full time, though, you need to figure out what you're selling most often and enhance those things first. You will probably want Blueprints IV just to get all of the important chassis, but that's not guaranteed.

Kollos

On the quality of components issue, while I completely agree that the outcome seems not to be affected by quality (or even noticably by experimentation) I do have a question - for all really

After all this time, has there really not been any conclusion reached on the quality of Droid Crafting Stations? It's just something that has always bugged me, given I DO want to give my customers the best I can.

Any light shed on this would be helpful

Thanks

The crafting station in my droid works just as well as the one in my shop. I dont get more critical fails out of it... although occasionally there are some (like every crafting station). Its a great little unit

Thanks to everyone

However to Ellewen,

I am extremely hurt and disturbed by your comments and I pray that whatever server you are on you act in a more polite manner than you do here on the boards. I am relatively new to the game (I have only been on for almost 2 months) and I have just started to really do Droid Engineering because I have spent most of my time not really grinding but trying to meet new people, have new experiences, and see what there is to do in the galaxy. As such, I do not have much experience with DE, Artisans in general, or can even provide help to anyone at the moment on these boards. I hope in the future I'll be able to help others.

Back to my ranting. Please be advised in the future that perhaps you should watch your tongue more when you talk to another person. It isnt hard to be polite at all, and if my words sound harsh, then well...I'm not really sorry. I severely hate gamers who act high and mighty and do not take care of what they say, especially to newbies. If it wasnt for the fact that I have encounters people like you before on other online games, I might even shy away from boards in search of useful help to me that I do need.

Luckily, others on this board have been more helpful to me.

Thanks again to everyone who was helpful and polite

I have my doubts about the +43 stations too, ask the "corpses" of my 2 crit failed Adv. BLLs, back to back. I've failed on as many final assemblies of those as I've succeeded on.

I have seen all kinds of posts on the issue, but no one has ever done any sort of definitive research.

But when it gets right down to it, the effect of a superior crafting station of any sort is pretty minimal. An Architect friend of mine did a reasonable test comparing a -10 crafting station to a +23 crafting station and could discern no difference. So while it is possible that all those really expensive +43 crafting stations that Architects like to brag about have some sort of an effect, it's not a significant one.

On the off chance that we're just missing something, I throw away any crafting station module that has a rating below 0. But anything above 0 is fair game because they all seem to work the same.
