Thread: Devs Please tell us in advance what resources are needed for Combat Droids

Devs, if the combat droids are going totake any rare resources to build it is essential for that resource(s) either to spawn near live launch of the new droids or have a list be givento us in advance of even it being pushed to Test Center so that we can meet demand.

Otherwise we will have rapid combat droid inflation due to rare resources that only some DEs will have stockpiled.

I just fear these droids might have a specific resource we DEs dont mine already and unless it spawns around the time of the live combat droid push, what is the point of having new droids if we cant build them for several weeks.

Something to think about.

Can't wait to find out!

Mosati is correct in this one and trust me, if no one else beats me to the punch, I'll post all of the info that I can when the code hits TC.

Honestly I kind of hope that one of the droids requires specific resources that aren't readily available on my server. It kind of makes the game interesting to anticipate being able to build something that may be rare in your galaxy.

On Radiant we just got T21's about 3-4 weeks ago and everyone was finally overjoyed that there was something new to craft and buy.

I think the best we will get is a warning from the DE's already on TC as to what we need to scrounge for.

Resource boom and bust is part of the game. Adding in 'special' spawns to enable newly introduced schematics would be unnecessary, and steal from the experience. Part of the crafting mastery 'meta-game' is resource management. You don't want to know how much high quality Duralloy Steel I have laid aside :-)

That being said, I'd sure like a special spawn of Lidium Extrusive ore right about now ;-)

yea, its starting to take all the fun out of it. I think our server has had at least one (and often 2) spawns at any given time of duralloy, duranium, ditanium, and neutronium steel. While it may make it easy to get them, it takes some of the fun and challenge out of it.

Its been DE heaven on the Test Center since I signed up there. The only resource that I have yet to find spawn has been the ever elusive Lidium Extrusive ore, but I was lucky enough to find a few people that were willing to sell me a couple of K.There have been at least 2 spawns each ofNeutronium, Duralloy, Duranium, and Ditanium Steel on more than one planet in just the last month. Duralumin Aluminum spawned a few weeks after I joined, as well as 2 types of Dioxis Inert Gas. Beryrillius Copper is now on its second or third consecutive spawn.I'm happy report that I have enough of each resource, except for the Lidium Extruisive Ore, to test the bugger out of any new content that hits TC, as long as none of the schematics call for something like Gallinorian Ranboe Gem Crystal Gemstone.

I don't want to get a new droideka schematic and then have to wait four weeks for some new type of required steel to spawn.

It would be ok if that metal was ditanium, durraloy, link-steel aluminim or some other rare resources which we already use and stockpile.

The resource game is starting to wear on me in general. If it were an obstacle to my droideka, that would be even worse.

Same here, but I hear rumors of the top end combat droids needing special drops off of NPC's. This may grind even more on our nerves if the drops are ultra rare.

I really don't mind this myself. It will make the droids less common and something to work towards. My peeve is going to be the new combat modules. Are we going to have to buy weapons from weaponsmiths to make the droids? Cross profession reliance is a good thing, but it should work both ways. DE's don't have much to offer to any other crafting profession besides the Storage Compartments.

If I were a dev, I think combat modules would be similar to weapons in terms of what resources go into them. Consider stockpiling a few reactive gases, just in case. You may not be able to make your business off of 1000 units of some random resource, but you'd have enough to make a droid for yourself and also to give a few to people who you think deserve one.

I can't recall how much I have stocked up, but I'll sell you some if I am well-stocked.
