Ack, totally posted that before I finished my post, haha.
Hello all-
Back on release I had the dream to become a DE, well I got turned off by some guy in Med Center complaining about making a thousand mouse droids and claiming the Profession was broken. Well I apologize I wasn't die hard like most of you, but I think it's time I did it anyways. I'm no holo-grinder and I have no aspirations of making money on this profession either.
Just wanted say hi to everyone and let you all know I'm on my way in!

Haha, thanks Padilla! Even though I only made it to novice once before I've kept my eye on the DE forums since launch so I'm well aware of what I'm getting myself into *whimper* But I shall hold fast! ![]()
Still looking forward to making my first R2 unit!![]()

"Looking into joining the DE ranks!"
?????
"Ranks" ???
LOL, we are at best the most optimistic followers of the most futile profession this game houses.
Playing as a Droid Engineer will drive you out of this game. Don't do it if you are looking to have more fun than annoyance.
It takes a very rare type of person to be a DE, unless your a hologrinder like 50% of us are.
You have to be extremly patiant, competitive, and a great salesman to be successfull.Inmost other skills like weapon and armorsmith, your products sell themselves if there good enough. Droids at the moment are toys, and you have to pawn them out as such.
Its a long grind, and i hate to say it but its not worth the effort right now. The future could be good, or a dissapointment, given the pace of progression, youll have mastered and eventualy droped the whole trade before you start seeing anything really postive happening.
If you like what you do and are serious about it, youll make money, slowly but surely. You need to have a plan, and be a down right capitalist.
