Hello All,

I just started on the DE career path, and after reading through TONS of stuff (My brain exploded about 50 posts back..) I'm getting a little depressed about having made that choice. I still want to do it, but there really could be more in-game information for people to rely on. Relying on the forums here to MAYBE find what you're looking for isn't a valid option in my opinion, this should be a last resort.

I do have some questions, and some gripes, and some W T Fs...

1) Is there a point in putting an Item Storage module in a basic MSE? It only holds one, count 'em, ONE item. How useful could that possibly be??

2) Am I correct in assuming that a basic BLL can only have an armor module and NOTHING ELSE?? If that's true, of what use is it??

3) I'm hearing a lot about needing items from Master Artisans. As a brand new DE, how do I know what these items are? How much do they normally cost? How do I know if I'm being taken? Why is the sky blue?? oops, that last one sort of fell out.

4) I made a couple of basic MSE droids, one with Avian Effects and one with Foam to give to a couple Entertainers as a test of what I had made. After about an hour in-game we finally figured out how to use an effect in the droid (but only after coming to the forums). Should the Holocron at the very least have this information?? And shouldn't the Holocron be searchable?? And why does bread always fall butter-side down?? dagnabbit! It happened again!

5) Related to the above, I bought a 100% harvesting R3 droid before becoming a DE to help in gathering those high dollar (er, credit) resources. Took me 30 mins in-game to figure out how to use the darn thing. And only after lots of tells and whining. Once I did figure it out it was the best thing since sliced Mynock! I was already a scout with Hunting IV, but the droid harvested about 30% more than I could.

6) Related to the above. Are special skills required to use specialty droids? in other words, do you have to have any scout skills to use a harvester-module-equipped droid? This is another aspect of the game that really bugs me. It's way too easy to buy something you can't use, just want to make sure I'm not selling something that can only be used by certain professions without stating such in the "brochure". Example: I found AFTER making the MSE entertainer droids that only Novice Dancers and Novice Musicians can use the effects. As a DE this should be obvious to me, like in the descriptions for those modules in the crafting station/tool.

7) I've seen resource lists, detailed resource lists, uber-detailed resource lists, ad nauseum, but none of them seem to tell me if some resources are only found on specific planets.

I'm sure these questions have been asked time and time again, but with new publishes and tweaks and "fixes" the answers have probably changed. So hopefully I'm performing some sort of public service here....

Thanks for the ear!

That has to do with the storage module, not the droid. A level 1 storage module in a BLL will hold 1 item too. If you put a level 6 module in the same basic MSE, it holds 10 items.

2) Am I correct in assuming that a basic BLL can only have an armor module and NOTHING ELSE?? If that's true, of what use is it??

you are correct, and its only really useful for decoration or for people to have something big and cool following them around.

3) I'm hearing a lot about needing items from Master Artisans. As a brand new DE, how do I know what these items are? How much do they normally cost? How do I know if I'm being taken? Why is the sky blue?? oops, that last one sort of fell out.

You do need a lot of master artisan items, but thankfully its only a couple different ones. Electronic Memory Modules and Electronic GP modules are the two most common, followed by control units, then micro sensor suites. I prefer to just buy schematics of the EMM's adn EGP's, as they don't require too many different resources and I pump them out by the thousands. Same for the control units, though I don't need those as often. Micro sensor suites are a **edit** since you need subcomponents, your best bet there is to just bite the bullet and buy a run of them (I've gotten lucky enough that the last 2 times I've needed some another DE has gone out of business and I've bought theirs for dirt cheap).

Actaully, if you look through the knowledge base (go to the holocron and choose customer service) that is a nice searchable FAQ.

5) Related to the above, I bought a 100% harvesting R3 droid before becoming a DE to help in gathering those high dollar (er, credit) resources. Yep, my customers love those guys.

Yea, it should be more obvious, but here's the basics. Only a scout can use the harvester/trapper droids, only a medic can use the medical modules, only a medic with pharm. 4 can load the stimpack droids (but anyoen can use them), only novice musicians/dancers can use the effects modules, only musicians can use the music modules, novice artisan is required for the survey droids, merchant adv. 4 is needed for the ad barking, and only smuggler/BH's can use the detonation droids. I *think* thats it, but don't have the list in front of me so no guarantees.

7) I've seen resource lists, detailed resource lists, uber-detailed resource lists, ad nauseum, but none of them seem to tell me if some resources are only found on specific planets.

No planet specific resources for DE with the exception of the repair kit C's I think... which require dantooine fiberplast.
