I bought 5 unprogrammed droid command chips. Programmed them with the appropiate commands. I understand there is supposed to be an option to transfer these chips to my datapad so I can then transfer them to my droid. I can't find any option to do this. The only options I have are Examine. Destroy. Drop. and Analyze. No option to transfer on the radial menu of the newly programmed chip. Am I doing something wrong or is there a known bug? Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question.

There should be a radial option to 'Transfer Memory Chip to Datapad', but you could try physically dragging the chip onto your astromech/FC in the datapad.
If that fails, you do know that the chips aren't required to program your astromech/FC with commands you know, right?

Got it thanks. Wish I knew you didn't need chips. I could have saved the credits I spent on the chips.

If it makes you feel better, I sold any chips for months. So, something good DEs had at one time is now gone.

How are chips unecessary? I haven't bothered using any pilot special commands yet. Figured I'd wait till I was tier 4.

Well, they're not unnecessary...you can use them to give programs to other pilots. The programs you know because of your pilot profession don't need chips.

Yeah all you have to do is choose "Program Droid" from the radial menu of your droid's datapad entry, not the called droid. You'll see a list of all the programs you know, plus any programmed chips you have in your inventory.
So for example, as a Rebel pilot let's say I want to add a few programs to my trusty astromech sidekick, Dee-elel. Let's also say that even though I'm a Rebel pilot, I really want to be able to use the privateer's Capacitor Overload command. Well, what I'll do is have a privateer friend of mine program a chip for me, and then when I go to program Dee-elel, the program on that chip will be listed after the ones I already know.
Hope this helps. ![]()

FWIW, I still sell the chips at a brisk pace to high-level pilots that program them and resell the burnt chips. There are a lot of reb and freelance pilots that love having engine and weapon overload.
