Since I finally got my hands on some high quality tolium gas I'm ready to make bomb droids. I was wondering if it's worth it at all to make Adv MSE droids over R3s since I can get a det rating of 28 or 29 with one module on an adv MSE rather than 57 or 58 with six modules on the R3. Since I only have a limited amount of tolium I would like to make as many bomb droids as possible.

If you're trying for quantity of droids made with your tolium, MSEs are the way to go. Since they only hold 2 modules at most, you'll get a whole lot more of them made. If you want a bigger boom, however, you'll need to go with Adv. R3s. They take 6 modules so you'll use more tolium, but the bang is much bigger.

It really depends on your servers economy. I sell 39 rated MSE's for 10k each, so 100k a crate. That is 20 modules for 100k. So that comes out to about 5k a module.
However, I sell my R3's for 85k, or 400k a crate, you save 5k per droid buying a crate. 5 x 6 = 30 Modules. That is about 13k a module.
This totally discounts how much harder R3s are to make them MSEs though. So that cuts into the profit some. Either way, you iwll sell more MSE's, but you get more bang for your Tolium from R3's.
Here is an example of why R3's are prefered. A customer bought a crate of my 59 Power R3s yesterday. An hour later he told me he got an instant incap with one. Then the next day, he told me that all 5 droids in the crate led to kills. So he paid 400k for the droids, but made over a Million in missions. Needless to say, he bought another crate.

Thanks so much for the tips!!!
So in terms of selling R3's... selling them in crates is mostly preferred?

I give a discount for a crate, but you don't need too. BH's may have their droids slots full except for one slot, so if they have a crate, they just pull them as they use them. Plus a droid can be pulled from a crate in combat.

i personally prefer just making the R3s...with the best tolium on my server that's out there (and i paid a hefty price to get another 200k of it) i can make det power 57 R3s...which according to the BHs that are buying them are extremely hard to come by on my server. I sell 'em for 85k singles or 425k for the crate. Why no discount? Because most of the BHs want crates anyways! The only reason i have a few singles is that i'll usually have an odd-numbered crate (like 3 or 4 instead of 5 in it) and i'll break it open for the occassional person that wants a single...but most often, you'll want crates. R3s are where the money is at in my book. Especially since i recently had a guild buy out my entire remaining stock (i think they got like 4.25mil worth)...i know that's where the money is. These BHs want the chance at an incap or dang near to it...MSEs just don't do that. Needless to say, i'm ramping up production of these babies as they're the major money maker in my shop...and if the customers are satisfied they'll come back for more as they're so hard to find.
Also keep in mind, if the new vendor changes go into live, tons of n00b DEs can make MSE det droids and sell 'em off cheap and you'll be competing with them in a price warfor the few customers out there. Similar thing will happen with arakyds/seekers/batteries/anything that doesn't need much of a factory run. Most DEs don't have the patience or dedication to figure out how to do (and actually manufacture in bulk) the really good R3 bomb droids and you won't have much competition. I think on bloodfin i may be competing against1 or2 other DEs whoare willing tomake them...and since i doubt we'd all keep up with the demand for 57+ rated det droids...it won't be much of a problem for us.

i think it really does depend on when is the last time tolium spawned on your server, on intrepid, it seems to be never, my R3s with 53 boom power seems like the max. we could make them can go for 90K each at least. and they could go alot higher if the 30K resource kits are used.

I discount for crates of some things, but those Adv R3s are so much harder to crate due to the cap on how many shells you can make at once (just 124 in a run, because of those damn adv. brains). I've even considered charging more per unit in crates, but figured I'd just go with the per-unit price...

You actually DO save money by selling them by the crate.
You used to save money because of critical failures (now that you get your resources back, this doesnt matter any more)
However, you still save money on experimentation. There are 7 critical points for experimenting on R3s (6 on the 6 modules, 1 on the final chasis) and possibly 2 more for the Armor Modules (if you cannot make Armor Modules 4, 5, or 6). If you critically fail on some of these steps, it will make a dud droid that you would have to sell for a lot cheaper.
So factories save on the bottom line.
