Newb DE here. I've been enjoying whipping-up some R2 and C3PO combos for friends (just the standalone advanced chassis for the doorway or living room display), and the customerusually tells me how they are to be named (Skipper and Little Buddy, Beavis and Butthead, etc etc).
How do you deal with this when you want to mass produce stuff for a Vendor? I'm guessing for Droids on Display (chassis) the naming is crucial, yet I want to load up the Vendor because I think they're an excellent impulse item.

If you're going to mass produce chassis and put them for sale so folks can decorate then they'll just have to be happy with the name you put on the schematic because there's no way to rename it after it's produced. Otherwise, you'll have to build them seperate with the name they want.
If you're mass producing finished droids for sale on a vendor you could do as many crafters do. Start with your name or company in brackets followed by a description. For example, I name one model of med droids that I sell as follows:
{StohnCorp} Max Medical & Item Storage Surgical Droid and Crafting Asst.
They can change the name when they activate it unless it's a protocol droid.
