Thread: CH's seem to want a piece of our market

Well-stated argumments, there. I applaud you!

but its also something I really don't see going through.
It would be the same as adding higher endcombat droids for anyone to use. Sounds pretty on paper and to some in the community, but would end up stepping on a lot of toes and would throw balance out of wack.
CHs are a combat profession that is almost completely self-supportive. They have a rather well defined niche and will once again become a more important factor in combat, post-CU.
Everything that has been suggested falls under the category of Droid usage.
The only function that I could see added would be a pet dance type function, similar to Entertainment modules, offering a visual effect and nothing more.

Perhaps somebody should point them to this post where TK explained that our last big push for Combat Droids was off the table because "The issue that turns up is that having the benefits of two professions jammed into one profession isn't balanced. When all was said and done, it seems there wasn't a combination that would have allowed DEs to be a crafting/combat hybrid in a balanced manner". Seems to me that the CH's are wanting a very similar thing.

While there are some similarities, the situation isn't quite equal.
They don't want pets for exclusive CH use...they just want to be able to provide 'special' (read: utility) pets to a part of the playerbase that doesn't really use CH products.
We more or less said the same thing when it came to our utility droid additions. The fact that we got some products geared toward different professions broadened our markets and was in many ways a good thing for DE.
I don't see much wrong with CHs getting some kind of similar 'love'. What will be hard is ensuring a balance and desirability of both Ent. droids and Ent. 'pets'.
As Jenden stated, I don't see this going through...but it's okay to kick around.

As both a DE and a CH, I've tried to express my opinion on the matter, but a good portion of the community seems adamant on being able to get their entertainer pets, and become a mercantile profession in the process.
