Thread: What do you want to be...
...when you grow up? ...make Master Droid Engineer?
They don't give you 250 points for nothing. I've noticed a lot of people's sigs that have lots of different combinations, which is totally cool and (I would guess) probably what the devs had in mind by giving people so many points in the first place. It's comforting to know that not all DEs are alike--well, maybe in their DE parts they are, but in their non-DE areas, they vary widely. While many people might think so, there is no single UBER DE template that everyone follows and winds up being, which is entirely cool...unlike some other games <cough>eq<cough>.
So given that you're in DE and/or planning to master it, what else are you doing with your points? Are you spreading all your points across the 6 base professions, or are you speciailizing in one or more elite and/or hybrid profession(s)? What combinations make sense to you and why?
I'll start.
Master of: Artisan, Droid Engineering (even though I haven't updated my sig yet)
Also have: Scout (partial), Architecht (partial), Marksman (partial), Pistoleer (novice only)
Points left: 0 (goosegg, nada, nix, naught, nine, none, zip, zilch, zero, snowball's_chances_in_hell)
Master Droid Engineer
Master Artisan
Merchant 3-4-0-0
Marksman 4-0-0-4
Novice Rifleman 0-0-0-0
Scout 4-0-0-0
I'd love to start up the Sniper tree in Rifleman, but I just don't have the points (I have used all 250 exactly). If I can somehow pull off the Vehicle making class, whatever that turns out to be, I'll probably drop Scout, Novice Rifleman, and the 2nd (Efficiency) tree of Merchant in order to do as much of it as I can.
Master DE

Medic1/0/0/2
Scout 1/0/0/2
I have 10 points left.
My original idea was an engineer type with my owngrowing shop that could provide a wide range of equipement needs, but specialize in DE cause droids are cool.
I started all base professions except brawler and played around. Picked up some CH, BE and pistoleer.
Mastered artisan, and picked up alot of scout and some medicto support collecting my own resources.
Now I've had to drop alot of stuff as I move up DE and pick up some merchant, focusing on my core studies. I thought 250 would be alot, but I'm bumping the ceiling. At least DE and merchant are both off the same base profession so I can save 15 points there.
I know I'm going to have to drop more skills to get where I want to go. Right now I have 8 points left.
Master Artisan
DE 1/1/0/4 still working on it, keep runing out of steel
Mechant 3/2/2/1 might drop to 3/2/1/1 or 3/2/0/1 if I can keep NPC vendors, no use mastering
Scout 3/0/2/0 want to keep terrain neg and creature to-hit,might have to drop to novice or all of it
Marksman 0/4/0/0 love health shot, but.....
Medic novice used to be 2/2/1/2 for support, had to drop it all
Entertainer novice used to be 0/4/3/0 so I could play in the band in Mos Eisley cantina ![]()
Architect novice just picked this up for crafting stations, maybe Installation I or II if possible
