Thread: BLL Attack Droid Test (Funny Story)
OK - I'll keep this one short (yeah right), but it was a somewhat sad yet somewhat funny moment. I'm sure that others out there have tried this, but I'm relaying my story if anyone is curious.
I was messing around in my shop today, relisting some of my items that had been on the vendors for 7 days and /telling a few conversations at once- you know the drill. One of my business partners and online friendswas asking some questions about BLL droids so I pulled mine out of my pocket, er um datapad, and /examined him.
I was looking at the HAM and defense qualities, pointing out that it was all pretty unnecessary when I noticed that in the list of programmed commands (from the /examine popup) listed "Attack" as the Droid Attack Command. Needless to say I was quite suprised as I had not noticed this before - it is not a program option that comes up from the radial --} program command list.
Well -discovering this for myself, I was off to test it out - my BLL was trailing eagerly behind me (obviosly not knowing what he was in for). After a good few minutes of searching around my shop and wondering where all the little critters went, I came upon a lone Rill atop a large hill.
As soon as my Load Lifter (named AT-LOL) caught up with me, I targeted the Rill and issued the "attack" command. I heard a bit of grinding as the BLL took two steps back and turned sideways to the Rill - kinda as if it was looking at it out of the corner of it's eye. Of course I know BLL's don't have eyes.
Feeling encouraged that I got a response from the droid at all, I issued the command a second time. This time the BLL did a quick about-face and ran completely down the hill in a line directly away from the creature that it was supposed to be attacking. It turned back to me when it reached the bottom of the hill and looked at me as if to say "hell no". Of course if the BLL did have eyes, it would have seen me laughing hysterically.
I was able to coax the BLL back to the top of the hill and we then had to reposition to try one more time on the Rill as it had become uninterested in my little game and wandered off. For a third and final time I issued the "attack" command. This time, the BLL took 3 running steps away from the Rill, turning as he was backing up. He then charged as fast as I think he possibly could down the hill, across the Tattoine desert and out of sight. My radar logged him at about 200m and then grayed out.
Well, I stood at the top of the hill, ROFLing and LOLing to my friend for a good minute or two over the /tell network. All the while scanning the horizon to see if my BLL would return. He did not - although he did blip in and out in the distance from time to time.
Finally, after all the excitement, I walked back to my shop minus one CLL8 Binary Load Lifter droid. After a couple hours, he found his way back to droidworks Anchorhead and into my datapad. Currently he is not speaking to me.
Oh well - I can always scrap him and build some more - praise the force for finally rotating Duralloy steel into our humble little galaxy. ![]()

ROFL but
as well
My, how we suffer!
It really isn't funny is it..........?
*Dreaming of a better future*
I actually did the same thing with my MSE droid during a Dant hunt... And the same thing happened he turned away and ran as fast as a MSE can possible run.
So the droids have the attack command but they are so cowardly that they turn and run when you tell them to attack.
sorta with ya here
during the perma death of droids.. I carried several MSEs that I named scuds when I tamed them
sometimes ya have to grienf someone, especially when they grief ya first ![]()
patrol points are your friends....
hmm lets see.. those jerks are in a camp healing up after that last fight... walk up and waypoint.
ohh look in the distance looks like some nice nasty agro mobs ( insert favorite I like kimogilas ) circle around the mob and .. waypoint... then launch the scud.. ( mse )
it streaks under the mob, catches agro.. then for some reason lets out a scream and hauls arse away from the mob... in a bee line to the next waypoint.. mob in tow.. then it of course due to it being agroed.. can not continue the waypoint back.. so it simply sits there at the camp waiting to die.. and of course it does.. so does the whole camp normally...
WE DE are not inherantly powerfull.. just BORED enough to discover how potentially annoying we can be
dont mess with a DE out hunting.. our dorids dont have perma death anymore.. so I can reuse my same scud every 2 min?
