I have a minor character on TC that I'm slowly grinding towards DE. With the new player city stuff hitting I thought I'd see what the architects needed in the way of droids or components for the new structures. Of all of them, I would have thought that at least the Shuttleport and Starport would require at least a protocol droid or chassis as a component to the build. But, according to the architects there, that's not the case! Every shuttleport has a protocol droid there as a ticket collector, yet the crafted ones won't need a player provided component for it.
So....
I thought I should start a thread here to collect suggestions about which structures we should petition the Devs to have as a required (or possibly optional) component is a droid, or a droid chassis at least. Ideally Sinstrosi will take the ideas and hand them to the devs through the correspondent forums. We have, theoretically, 2 months before these arrive on our live servers, plenty of time to make changes to the list of requirements.
I'll start the list with the shuttleport and starport structures requiring a Protocol Droid chassis. Any other ideas? If so, give a little justification.

What about random droids walking about helping lower maintenance on the player city (like we see them in current static cities)

I think each structure (above a certain level) should have a datapad, to which one or more repair/maintenance/utility droids can be attached.
There should be real, notable effects from attaching droids to a building, lower maintenance, added capabilities, etc. etc.
A protocol droid should be a requirement for a shuttleport, but I think it would be OK if it was not put in at crafting time, but instead added to the port's datapad to activate the shuttleport.
One thing that comes to mind is the use of Droid Brains and Advanced Droid Brains. I think any computer-type structure should require one or the other of these. This includes the current items like 'data terminals' and such. Vehicles of any complexity should probably need those too, come to think of it.

not a bad idea, pretty good thing to suggest, but post it on TC or on gen discussion, or on development forum. you know devs dont read this forum.

yeah and one droid lasts for 1 week so we get returning business
however, the better the droid is made the longer it should last. 1 week for non-experimented droids, 1 week and 2 minutes for a fully experimented.
